It’s really stupid when these marquee BCS conference programs play road games against mid-major conferences. Iowa should never go to Northern (or Chicago). Oklahoma should never go to UTEP.

LSU has some talented receivers even with the loss of Randle, but the playcalling is ridiculous at times. Stop calling those cute swing passes and WR screens! Yes they work great against North Texas but won’t against the better teams. Les should take these cupcake games and try to work on the downfield passing game.

Interested to see Bama secondary against more athletic wide receivers than Michigan has. Going deep was where Michigan thought the vulnerability was, even if they weren’t capable of exploiting it. Might not be there by November though…

Bama secondary has a chance to be beat (like as shown on that deep pass in the 2nd). Denard Robinson sucks as a QB for accuracy (great arm, poor accuracy). Couple times if he had lead the UM WR, he had beaten the Bama CB for some nice yardage.

Bama is physical and this helped with their secondary. It’s a long season and Bama has lots of room for improvement. It was a nice win and loved it after Big 10 Network kept showing the 2000 Orange Bowl and the Brady comeback win (after Phlugan missed the chip XP, dammit!!!!)

Still, Roll Tide.

Not to defend Iowa (shudder) but it was a neutral-site game in Chicago.

Didn’t see any of the game, but going on score and opponent alone, NOILL was MAC champion last year, beating OHIO for the title (who then beat PSU 24-14 yest.) Iowa nearly lost to No. Iowa a few yrs ago 17-16 and finished 11-2.

This was a good battle between a top MAC school and middle pack Big 10 school. Gotta remember these MAC teams get up for these games because more than likely they were not recruited by the Big 10 schools in their area and their gunning for games like this.

If LSU can’t complete a deep pass, Bama will have their lunch in Baton Rouge. Sad but true.
