Paul Ryan Shaved an Hour Off His Marathon Time in a Radio Interview

someone is establishing a pattern! I’m sure one of the loyalist is going to provide a fact checker of a fact checker of a fact checker to prove that Ryan actually ran a sub 2 hour marathon. He’s just to humble to bring it up himself.

I’m okay with voting for whoever can play the closest to their handicaps at Congressional. I could talk myself simply into voting for an honest politician* rather than by party.

one of my favorite albums is two for the show. live album. only like three songs that were radio hits, the rest i never heard until this album, so i guess the studio versions would bore me. but this album is amazing

I don’t think it’s the same thing. If Romney has exploited tax shelters, it may be somewhat unethical, but it’s not wrong. And in a lot of ways it makes good sense in terms of business and personal finance. We don’t look askance at corporations that have their corporate ‘headquarters’ in Delaware after all. Steroids can have a profound effect on a player’s ability to execute their occupation. If Romney used tax shelters and loopholes, it reflects little upon his ability to be president. In fact I would argue that it demonstrates an understanding of the tax code which only helps his credentials. It’s an odd argument to make I know, but it’s all by way of saying that I don’t think it’s the same thing as an athlete who takes steroids.

Maybe if you ran sub 6 and though it was sub 5. A sub 3 hour marathon is something very very few people can do, and I don’t see how you can make that mistake. It would be like saying “oh I shoot sub 80 when I golf” but you actually have never broken 90. You can’t really do that on accident.

a great reason to release the returns, to prove the circumstantial evidence wrong. it’s like when those accused of taking steroids deny it but don’t sue accusers for defamation

um, i did say ‘to the electorate’. i agree for the most part that if a rule is badly made, it’s not wrong to exploit it. but taxes are touchy and appeal to mouthbreathers who read headlines only and are happy to be told how to think by their favorite anchors

There is a difference though, you’re right. There is evidence, perhaps circumstantial at best, that Romney has exploited tax havens and paid less than he otherwise would have. I’ve yet to see any evidence other than wild-eyed assertions by a bloodspitting fringe that Obama was anything but a normal student at Columbia. It’s trolling for negatives because they simply don’t like the guy. Why they don’t like him I’ll let others explore.

the demand may not be relevant, but of the two types of info, romney’s is more important to the electorate, or oughta be. unless obama has lied about his columbia grades, cuz lying’s bad, mmmkay?
