Lawless looks dope. LaBouf gets a lot of heat thanks to Transformers, but the guy is actually a decent actor. Love that he was honest and shit all over the new Indiana Jones.
Also, Miley Cyrus? Don’t enough people hate that show already?

Part of my job consists of managing/supporting our Amazon e-commerce channel. We spend months on advance testing and consumer outreach to cultivate positive product reviews. It’s essentially to a successful launch anymore. And negative reviews? Shit, people FREAK if one of those pops up. Those little stars matter a whole lot and it doesn’t surprise me at all that companies are willing to pay for them.

Been saying for awhile that I think Hernandez is a better player than Gronk. Nice to see the Pats are onboard with my thinking.

He should have. That movie was awful, glad I only rented it and didn’t pay the $$$ for the theatre. Speilberg was just trying to haul in the cash with that flick and ruining that franchise. That movie needed to be made 15-20 years ago.

August 28th, 2012 at 8:51 AM
I’m not so sure it’s just that. Can’t believe I’m saying this about Hernandez, who was known to have his IQ lowered while at Florida if you know what I mean, but I think the Pats think he’s a little ‘safer’ than Gronk? You don’t see him taking photos with porn stars, dancing shirtless after the Super Bowl and bogarting the ESPY’s with his bro’s and apparently having a reality show with his bro’s. All that to say, he’s a helluva player too.

@Timmy, it depends on the work. I have a half dozen I’ve used off and on for a couple of years. My main person I have runs through a script of 27 social/local/review sites building the initial business profiles and then circling back through for reviews. She’s worth her weight in gold at $4.40/hr as she also does a bit of Magento dev work for me when needed.

There’s no such thing as, “UCLA territory” when it comes to football anymore.
August 28th, 2012 at 8:56 AM
Cabrera, right now, is probably going to win the MVP. But there’s a lot of season left, plus his ankle is sore so it might affect his hitting.
August 28th, 2012 at 8:56 AM
@Rex – Yeah, the whole thing fascinates me. Seems like the range of outcomes for a specific task could be really high, but I know there must be good people. How they can be efficient enough to make it worth their while is incredible. Unless they all live in Mumbai, anyway.

Even though is parents were ‘Noles, I find it hard to believe anybody would pick playing basketball at FSU over playiing at Kentucky these days. Nothing against Leonard Hamilton and his program, but it seems they aren’t the best model of consistency down there.

Watched Rangers last night. Just think if Hamilton doesn’t miss those games earrly in the year. Incredible numbers

good thing is your boot gets a longer reach than the cat does.
my dog came across a fox one morning that had been following us, had never seen one before. was interested and wanted to play. started carrying a knife with me on walks in the fall when the foxes come out now. my dog isn’t big, 45lbs about 18″ high at the shoulder, friendly as hell.. not exactly daunting prey for a fox desperate for food.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:00 AM
Yeah, he’s been really good for most of the year. But he had that slump for a long time that dropped his average big time.

Tanier wrote that Aaron Hernandez has been taking handoffs all camp. Screw the Pats, but man I love their nonsense. And the havoc that “Aaron Hernandez, Patriots leading rusher” could cause in fantasy leagues. Please happen.

Mushnick’s right, but I wish he’d champion a real cause like bringing back white people brims on a hat instead of these godawful flat brims. It’s damn near impossible to find a “I want to bend my bill like a normal human being and not wear this thing straight” hat anywhere these days.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:00 AM
Arrested? Being ticketed for jaywalking would be some bullshit, but being arrested is kinda ridiculous.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:01 AM
You think so? I know sportwriters are somewhat old-fashioned but I think that WAR has become almost so mainstream that Trout’s huge advantage there makes him almost a lock for MVP.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:03 AM
Well done on Olivia Wilde. Great pic. Though Tron was a small letdown, she looked fantastic in that suit in the film.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:03 AM
Yeah, my perception is that Trout is the front-runner for MVP, too. Aside from dominating statistically he also has the built-in narrative of the Angels’ turnaround coinciding with his debut.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:03 AM
I agree there’s a lot going on, which is why I had the second sentence in my previous comment.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:03 AM

@Ourand_SBJ ESPN agrees to an 8-year, $5.6 billion deal with MLB.

Thought I saw him returning a punt as I flipped channels the other day. What “TE” does that?
August 28th, 2012 at 9:05 AM
Timmy, I’ve never had a bad experience, although it helps that I’ve worked with Indian developers and call centers for 10+ years. My three best right now are in the Philippines. With oDesk, I float my job and requirements, usually receiving a few dozen bids, and just drill down based on the main, minimum criteria of 4.5 stars feedback score and 5 stars for English skills before looking at anything within the bid. Best move I ever made as my margins have gone through the roof and my own available time has exponentially increased.

August 28th, 2012 at 9:07 AM
Off topic, but it appears the road to the Super Bowl goes through Buffalo. From Deadspin:
Beginning with the 2006 season through the 2011 season, the eventual NFC Super Bowl representative beat Buffalo in the regular season:
2006 — Loss @ Chicago, 40-7
2007 — Loss v. NY Giants, 38-21
2008 — Loss @ Arizona, 41-17
2009 — Loss v. New Orleans, 27-7
2010 — Loss @ Green Bay, 34-7
2011 — Loss @ NY Giants, 27-24
The AFC East plays the NFC West this season. Looks like I may have to pick Frisco to go to N’awlins.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:08 AM
Mushnick may be old and cranky, but all the alternate color bullshit in these uniforms is retarded. Fuck the people who buy green Yankee hats or whatever bullshit alternate color gear Nike, New Era Adidas etc make.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:09 AM
Aaron Hernandez is a nice young player that will likely be a top TE. But he cant block, cant shed a lot of tackles or defenders. And until he IS better than Gronk (who I think could have some ankle issues) bottle up that Hernandez>Gronk nonsense. Gronk was pantheon last year.

August 28th, 2012 at 9:13 AM
I have no problem with the alternate hats although I don’t wear the crazy ones myself.
I have a few MLB hats like the players own, if you just wear them out those things last forever. I have a Cleveland hat from ’93 Cooperstown Collection (what New Era called the hats the players wore back in the day) and that think is still in really good shape.
The companies gotta turnover some product.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:15 AM
Florida had Hernandez, Harvin, and Tebow all at the same time.
Was Demps on that team too?
August 28th, 2012 at 9:15 AM
The gap between Trout and Cabrera is way too wide.
Felix should win it over Weaver for the Cy anyway.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:17 AM
@Rex – That’s a great review, I might actually give that a shot at some point. We interact a fair amount directly and indirectly with developer teams and outsourced IT shops in India. My biggest takeaway is the quality of the experience depends most heavily on how well the spec is written. You have _really_ got to know what you want and nail down the details. Otherwise the coordination costs will drive you insane.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:17 AM
Don’t forget Riley Cooper and Louis Murphy. Oh and that defense was sick.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:18 AM
If he was, he was really young. The only back I really remember from those teams was Emmanuel Moody.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:19 AM
I know, Trout’s numbers 7th inning and beyond are awful.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:20 AM
I think he was though, because I think Demps is the 1st guy to win an NCAA championship in 2 sports.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:21 AM
Felix
He’s unbelievable. Wonder if Sox will try and snag him. Simmons article yesterday on maybe them dumping best players/salary/etc. is taking a step back maybe even for another year to take the time to figure out what’s best, free agent wise. Thought it was well written from a fan’s perspective.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:22 AM
Didn’t read Simmons, but at this point you can’t really rely on free agency for roster building. At least your core players. There just aren’t enough guys any more. Everyone is signing extensions.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:23 AM
Lead Horse for the Cy Young right now is Felix Hernandez. King Felix is racking up some insane numbers the past few months.
Trout will win the double AL ROY & MVP.
NL is a mess.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:25 AM
That is key. I use a Google Doc that scripts every account creation as well as a couple of screen casts I put together. Once you refine and get the process nailed down, it’s much more efficient and cost effective. For the profile creation process, I pay a fixed fee now, which is even better. That mind-numbing, tedious work absolutely blows, so even if I paid triple, it’s still worth it.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:26 AM
Ever wonder what Terrell Buckley has been up to lately?
Not really, but I do remember having a Fleer Ultra rookie card of his:

August 28th, 2012 at 9:27 AM
I know Ichiro and Fred Lynn both did that double in the AL. Has anyone ever done it in the NL?
August 28th, 2012 at 9:27 AM
and Arkansas still should have beaten them in the SECCG in 2006.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:30 AM
I don’t think any has ever done it in the NL. Assuming Trout baselines a .300/.400/.450 the last month, he’ll still lead the league in fWAR by a wide margin and be the first ever 30hr-50sb guy in ML history.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:31 AM
If Felix Hernandez was on the Tribe, we’d have found a way to have traded him by now. Trading Cy Young winners, it’s what we do.
/there were like 400 people at the Indians game last night
//it’ll be worse after the sell-off this winter or next year’s deadline.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:31 AM

It sounds like you’ve found one situation when outsourcing works. I’ve seen it done pretty poorly with a wholescale integration (onsite, offsite mix, H1B’s everywhere) of development and QA. Was a clusterfuck of horrible on every level, products went to hell, moral right behind it, lots of people quit (including me).

August 28th, 2012 at 9:42 AM
I keep Antonio, S1rweeze. Better QB situation.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:42 AM
It CAN work, but it does take an investment of time and resources to get things up and running. The expectation that you can just ramp up with offshore resources on a large scale and do so quickly and successfully is laughable. Often times, that time and those resources are not factored into the equation with impatient CIOs trying to show cost savings.

August 28th, 2012 at 9:45 AM
I’d lean towards Brown, but Bowe is going to have a couple of those weeks where he is just a monster. I don’t think Brown will have those weeks, but he will be a more consistent producer than Bowe; especially in a ppr league.
The problem with taking any Stiller is you don’t know what to expect from the offensive line (which isn’t great) or Todd Haley (when he’s not polishing his camaro or yelling at Josh McDaniels).
August 28th, 2012 at 9:45 AM

there’s only one meaningful bowl game in the SEC. it’s the one they’ve won the last 6 times.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:47 AM
timmy, they need to rely on a good farm system. I’m still so bitter about letting Reddick go. Just a waste.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:48 AM
Two things going against Trout’s MVP candidacy: 1. The Angels have fallen off and are 4.5 games out of a WC spot. 2. He’s currently 17th in RBI, which has been a huge MVP-predictor stat in the past. Cabrera has a good case but the Tigers are also currently outside-looking-in, plus he was better the last 2 years. Derek Jeter should not be mentioned as an MVP candidate, he’s not even the best middle-infielder on his team.
I think it’ll be Trout but it might be closer than the WAR advantage would indicate. FYI both Eric Davis and Barry Bonds went 30/50 back in the day.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:48 AM
I love Bowe for this reason, even in somewhat of a down year last year, he still put up a couple 30+ point games, Cassel be damned. I may have a shot at getting him anyway even after picking Brown.
August 28th, 2012 at 9:49 AM
Foxes are generally tiny though should not be a problem. My dog is probably full grown at 14 lbs. My foot was in the ready position for this cat.
Love Google docs and will look into this closely. If I can get someone to Ping social media backlinks, Google Plus One all the websites and write the reviews it would free up a great deal of whiskey/new client time.

Hell is being stuck behind a phalanx of black women while trying to make it to the busstop on time.

I had never listened to that before but that guy is hilarious. I did figure he was white.

They lost it last year, too.

In downtown Minneapolis, there’s always dudes (black and white) that are walking in a straight line with no rhyme or reason relative to anything around them. They’ll cross the street at a 10 degree angle, then look pissed off that you’re leaning on the horn telling them to GTFO of the way. So irritating

White people listen to Shade45? I know it’s owned by Eminem, but…

What kind of dog, soused?

I only listen to the All Out show sporadically. I prefer Backspin for hip hop music. Most hip hop today is pure shit.

Rude Jude plays for the white team. Plus I like dirty down south rap from time-to-time.

I’ve found where it works in many situations. I think it works great for the small to mid-size companies, but I don’t like outsourcing at the enterprise level. During my time at Andersen and Accenture, I led an infrastructure design project for an Indian outsource and data center (as Accenture moved to an outsourcing model), that would replace many of our own workers. You quickly learn the limitations and what, in a word, sucks.
As for hating America, nope. I would prefer to keep the work here, but the economics and scaling issues don’t make it sensible. Why would I utilize my bill rate and billable hours on myself when I can farm out the tedium for a fraction of the cost?
August 28th, 2012 at 10:09 AM
Seriously though, why do black folks walk so slowly? Whether it’s the mall, the street or the grocery store most of the time they aren’t in any kind of hurry
August 28th, 2012 at 10:10 AM
Cool dog. I’d seen your pictures before on twitter. Assumed it was a pup that would end up a lot bigger than that.
August 28th, 2012 at 10:10 AM
There is a difference between outsourcing your own work to avoid boredom and focus on more profitable jobs than say moving a plant to China and having the soon to be jobless Americans train their replacements.
August 28th, 2012 at 10:10 AM
White people! Black people!
August 28th, 2012 at 10:12 AM
This.
You don’t farm out high value, difference making work. You farm out the type of work that makes you (and your team) want to punch yourself in the face every morning.
I managed a team of guys in India (along with guys here in the States) and once the division of labor was set up between the two teams, it actually worked out quite nicely.

White trash walks slower.
August 28th, 2012 at 10:14 AM
Come on man, you know why. We’re just lazy we don’t have jobs, why rush? We ain’t got nowhere to go
/stereotype’d
August 28th, 2012 at 10:15 AM
Yup. Two companies I was with (Accenture and NCR), I either designed or trained what would lead to the departure of thousands of jobs. Sucked balls and the reason I don’t work for anyone. I don’t take on large, corporate clients anymore for related reasons. They’re a black hole that sucks the life out of me.
August 28th, 2012 at 10:18 AM
Nah, B. It’s because if we were to speed walk, all the white people around us might think we just stole some white lady’s purse or shoplifted or some shit.
