Adrian Gonzalez and James Loney Both Scratched From Lineup Tonight as Red Sox-Dodgers Trade Becomes More Likely
According to the official MLB twitter account, both Adrian Gonzalez of the Red Sox and James Loney of the Dodgers have been scratched from their respective lineups, hours after the Dodgers were awarded a waiver claim on Adrian Gonzalez.
Gordon Edes of ESPN Boston has said that the deal will involve Gonzalez, along with Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford, and Nick Punto, in exchange for Loney and multiple prospects. Basically, Boston is going to walk away from Adrian Gonzalez in exchange for doing a NBA-type “get rid of bad contracts” deal where Boston gets to clear Beckett, Crawford and Punto out of town as well.
Whoa.
I’m sure Red Sox Nation will have no thoughts on this.

Did you take out that fly first? Can’t be having any witnesses, man.

That guy in Norway that killed 77 people last year only got 21 years in prison. Seems pretty lenient. I guess if you want to pull a Ted Bundy Norway’s the place to do it.
August 24th, 2012 at 8:51 PM
I would have cut off his nuts and led him bleed out in the town square. He went around an island and killed a bunch of kids IIRC
August 24th, 2012 at 8:52 PM
Maybe they decided to go easy on him since it was Muslims, and they figured he was doing the rest of us a favor.

Hey Smallie did you read my comment about that guy whose wife took him to trial?
August 24th, 2012 at 8:55 PM
I just can’t believe if she’s being ass raped she’d whisper stop to her husband.
August 24th, 2012 at 8:56 PM

Norway has a max sentence of 21 years. On top of that, his minimum is only 10 years, but he can be held if he’s still considered a danger beyond the 10 or 21 years.
August 24th, 2012 at 8:57 PM
Meth,
Where Did it ever say the victims were all muslims?
There is no death penalty in norway and he got the maximum sentence available under Norwegian law
August 24th, 2012 at 8:58 PM
Norway has a max sentence of 21 years.
Crazy. You kill a mere fraction of that many people here most of the states you’re ass is going to fry.
August 24th, 2012 at 8:59 PM
I never said it was all muslims, but that’s who he was targeting. And I was unaware of Norwegian law since I’m not Norwegian, so I found that shocking, but have since been informed.
August 24th, 2012 at 9:00 PM
Where Did it ever say the victims were all muslims?
I think the guy said his goal was to prevent Islam from taking over Norway or something like that
August 24th, 2012 at 9:07 PM
Prosecutors had argued Breivik was insane as he plotted his attacks to draw attention to a rambling “manifesto” that blamed Muslim immigration for the disintegration of European society.

No. They have a hispanic pawpulation.
August 24th, 2012 at 9:27 PM
Why the hell are the Dodgers doing this trade???
August 24th, 2012 at 9:32 PM

Hell you can get that much time in this country for growing plants.
August 24th, 2012 at 9:35 PM
Hell you can get that much time in this country for growing plants.
Didn’t even think about that. Absolutely right, though. I can’t remember the weight they charge you with manufacturing for each plant here in Delaware, but there is a minimum weight. Whether it actually weights that or is a fresh sprout with no leafs.

They don’t measure it by how much bud you currently have on it, they measure it in what you could eventually have on it. Scheming motherfuckers.
August 24th, 2012 at 9:42 PM
There seems to be a handful of guys who see a resurgence when they get traded. Wonder if A.P.’s liking for those guys could possibly get any lower if they happen to go elsewhere and beast it the fuck up.
August 24th, 2012 at 9:50 PM
Yeah I saw that. Also messed up.
August 24th, 2012 at 9:52 PM
The next time he wants to ass rape his wife he better go to Norway to do it because Oregon might not let him get away with it again.
August 24th, 2012 at 9:54 PM
You understand why people fantasize and strive for finding means to live on other planets. This place is going to shit. Mass killings and ass rapings around every corner.
August 24th, 2012 at 10:02 PM

Hey, hey hey, what did the great state of Oregon do?
August 24th, 2012 at 10:04 PM

August 24th, 2012 at 10:14 PM
Dude, you know the Sawx are still picking up 80% of those contracts.
August 24th, 2012 at 10:19 PM
Whoa is right.
What I’m hearing (from beat guys on twitter) suggests this isn’t true at all. Prob the rest of the year.
I like the move, I think, being able to unload a ton of weight and change something that just wasn’t working. I applaud the FO having the balls to go for it that dramatically, at the risk of not being a great team next year.
I hope the Red Sox fans appreciate that, and show loyalty to the team, provided the owners do what is logical to continue building.
I have no doubt CC will do well after his injury rehab, and Beckett will be okay in spacious NL West parks, while Gonzo will be a force again. But they weren’t going to here.
Thanks for 2007 Beckett. Thanks for always being accountable through your struggles Carl. Good luck in LA.
August 24th, 2012 at 10:20 PM
I’m fascinated by it. And a lot less horrified than I should be because I can’t see how the Dodgers would take on that money AND throw in prospects. Hopefully they don’t read twitter till the deal is done.
August 24th, 2012 at 10:23 PM
Whatever they do in LA wasn’t happening here. I can’t stress enough how impressed I am by the move on the Red Sox part, assuming it happens and the deal is close to what’s reported. It’s tough to admit mistakes. I’m shocked the Dodgers would take on all that money, but I do think all three will help the team going forward.
August 24th, 2012 at 10:28 PM
Hey, hey hey, what did the great state of Oregon do?
This guy got acquitted of ass raping his wife because the lady that drove his wife to the emergency room said the wife told her that she only whispered (being the key word) stop to her husband. So in the process of business time he was unable to hear her, and the jury chose not to convict.

Today is an unusual Friday. Even the bar across the street from work is dead. That place is usually bumping. Literally, I can feel that place’s music bouncing my windows from all the way across the parking lot when I’m out there in my truck on break.
August 24th, 2012 at 10:34 PM
I shot even par 35 after work (not a hard course, but still). Teed off on 7 at -2, and three-putted from distance after a drive in the trees. My game is starting to come around at least though, had a few nice drives.

Best part of that is you probably knew she wasn’t going to care before you told her…but you still told her anyways.

resolute, they said that’s the second time in 2 months someone has been acquitted for that in that area. Fucked up shit.
August 24th, 2012 at 10:55 PM
Adrian Beltre is trending, but not the Red Sox. Is this not a big deal? You all care so fucking much when Beckett golfs or the backup C sends a text message. Now you all better be involved if they pull this off.

I think you should be alright. Unless you’re afraid something in the water is going to make you tell your wife that “no” is the new “yes.” You’re going to find crazy shit anywhere really. The world is a fucked up place.
August 24th, 2012 at 11:04 PM
The world is a fucked up place.
More that. If two can get acquitted because the no wasn’t loud enough, messed up place in general. But yeah, screwed up anywhere you go, not like Los Angeles is the bastion of sanity

Not sure if it has been discussed here, but the whole true story that the movie Compliance is based on also supports the fucked up world theory.

Don’t you hate that. Like when I heard about that pediatrician around here that videotaped himself molesting and raping all those kids its like damn, I drive by that motherfucker’s office all the time. Then that other doctor sticking his daughter’s face under the faucet and dragging her by her ankles across their gravel driveway. That shit’s 10 minutes from where my work is.
August 24th, 2012 at 11:15 PM
Haven’t seen it, not even sure it has been widely released, but read about it and the story behind it. The story is so bizarre it defines truth being stranger than fiction.
