Three Tampa Bay Rays Minor Leaguers Suspended 50 Games for Use of Meth
Tough stretch for MLB drug testing:
The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that three Minor League players in the Tampa Bay Rays organization have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
Second baseman Ryan Brett, pitcher Charles Cononie and pitcher Justin Woodall, all of whom are with Single-A Bowling Green of the Midwest League, each tested positive for methamphetamine and an amphetamine.
Woodall’s the only name you’d know. He was on Alabama’s unbeaten 2009 National title-winning team, starting at safety. Must be a pretty good athlete – after not getting selected in the NFL draft, he was a 26th round pick in the MLB draft. [MLB.com]

I wondered what happened to him. Had a nice SR season at Bama. Didn’t get drafted and I guess went to play minor league ball. Poor decision here
