They have armed police. They just have to go through special training. So they would have SWAT teams and stuff for that. Normal traffic cops aren’t packing.
Works because they have very rigid and monitored gun licensing. They have something like 1/10 the number of murders per year as Michigan with five times as many people.

Cool. They do need to do something about their police uniform. They look like parking attendants. German cops look like soldiers with their green fatigue.

What a wacky country

When the wife and I were over there when we were in college. We took the Eurostar to France. We got stuck on the tracks before we went under the chunnel, because those dirty French were protesting and sitting on the tracks on the other side. One of the English guys sitting next us explained they do things differently here. They try to talk them off instead of using force.

Beat cops and patrol cops don’t (same with Ireland). But they have specialized armed units that can respond to a scene if necessary.
