And I know they got to the SB last year, but that was a joke of a run, playing Tebow and needing a miracle to beat the Ravens.

I worry about injuries all over an aging/injury-prone receiving corps, and an ever-changing offensive line relying on basically a rookie at LT. My guess is they’ll be better than last year, but not quite as good on offense, and probably don’t make it back to the SB.

I’m optimistic about the team rebounding from a season where a bunch of misses bad years (Dowling/McCourty/Ocho) could turn it around and improve. This is how I felt about the Red Sox back in March, too though, so fuck if I know.

I do still really like the Patriots 2010/12 draft classes (with the Solder/Mallet/Vereen/Ridley year in between), so there is certainly room for improvement/growth without bringing guys in. Just have to hope BB’s pride doesn’t get in the way, trying to prove Tavon Wilson was a good pick, or the Vereen/Ridley 2nd rounders weren’t a waste.

Heard a comment that Mesko is doing great this year, which is important, especially with the way BB uses field position to cover up some risks.

I’m sorry to say, but the Hoodie and Patriots are not going anywhere any time soon. If they falter in 2012, it won’t be of the sudden collapse like the Colts last year or the 49ers in 1999. It will be because of injuries that drop them from the top.
