Even though Tyson Chandler won defensive player of the year, many would argue Ibaka is the NBA’s best defensive player.

I don’t think that many would. Blocked shots are cool, and the grunting let’s you mean mug like after a sick crossover, but I would venture that Ibaka’s value is inflated because of them. It ain’t like he’s Dikembe.

Also, who would argue – or even remotely believe – that shooting guards grow on trees? Other than center, it’s the shallowest position in the NBA.

Unless Paul Tesori dies, Webb should be okay. I honestly don’t think much runs through his head other than to do what Tesori tells him. That Presidents Cup will help USA a bit for the young guys that got tested, and they learned not to think Tiger will go 5-0-0 and bail them out.

Here’s the factors that could hurt USA in the Ryder Cup in order of danger.
Rory getting loose, getting a 5-0-0 week that vaults Euro
Furyk (please, no) and Mickelson being shitty.
Love does some real dumb shit with the set-up trying to turn it into a USGA set up.
Euro just gets really hot.
The other USA captain picks being shitty.

The USA has Tiger and Dufner, home field, and a crew of good putters (Zach, Stricker, etc). Inexperience should not be an issue.

Put me down early for a 15-13 USA win nonetheless.

Bradley is a hard core gamer IMO. No worries on him. Dufner is playing top 5 in the world golf. Webb will be okay since we home. He seems like such an airhead, but his game has been pretty sick.

I give Euro a slight edge guys like Dufner, Simpson and Bradley don’t strike me as players who will be good at match play. That’s just my opinion from watching them, don’t know if that is true or not.

Actually quite the opposite, many argue he is (at least currently) overrated on defense.

But an obvious problem is on the horizon – how can you pay Durant, Westbrook and Ibaka, plus Perkins, and have room for Harden?

Zach Lowe did a great job detailing how they can (and probably will) fit Harden in.

[Note: Russell Westbrook's 5-year, $80 million extension is done, but his yearly salary numbers aren't available yet, so $16 mil per is an estimate.]

If the choice is between Ibaka and Harden, choose Ibaka every day and twice on Sundays. Ibaka looks ready to make The Leap, and could really be a special “both ends of the floor” player. Harden streak shoots and runs into defenders a lot.
