Cold call Bob Knight with the Bane soundboard!

Great game, I kept coming back to the game during the late afternoon. Couldn’t believe the pitching from both teams. Funny to see the fans dwindles as the game went on and on. See if this x-innings game win sparks the Buccos, unlike the hose job they got last year vs. the Braves in the 19 inning game.

thanks man. I know I need to practice so much more than I do, and yesterday just made it obvious. funny how it works, because I shot a 44 on the same front 9 just the day before. I’ve been averaging probably a 88-90 all summer, not making much progress. everything fell into place yesterday. I could hardly sleep last night, just kept replaying the round in my head.
August 20th, 2012 at 8:56 AM
And the thing that gets me is the predictable jump to support the guy by some people who just happens to share the same party affiliation. For fuck’s sake, you’d think intelligent people would want to condemn the guy and distance him from their party, instead there are those who look to explain away everything and harp on the ‘liberal media’ some more. And this is why I’m an Independent.

Locker named the starter in TEN
Think this is a panic move. Hasselbeck set a franchise record last year (I think) and played pretty well, giving 4 receivers career highs in rec yards. He’s been shaky in practice and preseason games so far. With that being said, I agree with the decision. Gotta let him try. Tough break for Matt though. Seems like a good dude.

Fair point. Its more the idea that no one on the right really leaped to condemn the man. Shit even Romney was like, “Eh, we disagree.”
Can you imagine the shitstorm FOX and the radical right would conjure if Nancy Pelosi said the liberal equivalent of something this disgusting (and I can’t even think of what that would be)?
August 20th, 2012 at 9:14 AM
A friend of mine is a UDub fan and loved Locker in college when he 1st came on board. As his college career went on, he became less enthralled by him. Couldn’t believe TEN took him in the 1st round. He made some great plays with his legs in college, but his accuracy sucked. Can’t see him lasting long in the NFL as a starter, defensive guys are just too good/fast

August 20th, 2012 at 9:22 AM
I actually think/have thought that Locker will be the best QB of that class sans Cam Newton. Dalton might prove me wrong but Locker hasn’t been given the chance yet that Dalton has. Plus Dalton had the benefit of an all-world receiver to throw to right away.

That’s a bit misleading, Jason. That’s a column from guitarist Tom Morello. There’s nothing from Ryan and he probably won’t (and shouldn’t) respond to what was written.
But Morello is right – their music is against every view Ryan has made a career of.

i’m surprised kids didn’t die of boredom 10, 15-20 years ago when, god forbid, we had to sit quietly and read, or just sit quietly and use our imagination with toys, or sit and be present with family members.

I took my kid to a birthday party a couple of years ago for one of his pre-school buddies.
One of the presents the parents gave the kid was an iPod touch. I could not believe anyone would give something like that to a 4 year old. Before my kid could say “Oh, what is that?”, I got him out of there before he got any ideas.
August 20th, 2012 at 9:36 AM

August 20th, 2012 at 9:44 AM
Or, you can just be a parent and teach your kid about moderation, and that there’s a time and a place for video games.
August 20th, 2012 at 9:44 AM
Moderation is good. Unfortunately the parents who let their kids’ day be completely consumed by some sort of electronics are the same who can’t let their phones be out of their sight for more than five freakin seconds.
August 20th, 2012 at 9:45 AM
no, just don’t use them as a substitute for actually running around and interacting with other kids, nature, etc.
i played far too many video games from when i was 13 until the end of college. I won’t be letting my kids do the same with technology.
August 20th, 2012 at 9:45 AM
I’m good with my kid playing the Wii once in a while or even playing a game on the PC (his pre-school gave us copies of the PC games they play at school).
I just don’t think those portable, personal devices are all that appropriate for young kids to have for themselves.
August 20th, 2012 at 9:45 AM
Watched Unstoppable on a plane from Philly to Amsterdam without any sound, was able to pick up on the entire plot. Horrible movie. Perspective.
August 20th, 2012 at 9:45 AM
I don’t see any reason kids should have phones or tablets at age 5. My evidence is only anecdotal, but the primary reason these kids have these devices is because it gives the parents breaks from being parents. No real difference from TV, I suppose, but I still dislike the practice.

I have a different perspective on these devices. My 9 year old just got an iPad from my dad for making the G&T program. Sure there are games on there, but mostly it’s chock full of education apps. Considering a lot of schools are rolling out iPads to their classes, it can’t be that bad.
My parent time is pretty limited due to custody, so I don’t throw this stuff at them and walk away.

My brother gave his son an ipod touch for his fifth birthday. I bought one for myself, my first Apple product at the age of 27, five months earlier. He and his then wife both had iphones so he was always playing with theirs, so they got him one basically the protect their phones. Only took him a year to crack the screen but the best part is his two year old brother steals it and runs around the house taking pictures of himself accidentally, just hundreds of front facing photos of him poking the screen.

First, the guy’s rape comments were stupid, and anyone who tries to defend him is as stupid if not stupider.
Second, there is always a double-standard whenever outrageous comments are made by a politician. The “other” party is always more outraged than they would’ve been if it had been one of their own.
Third, Obama is a Muslim and hates America…and farming(?).

yeah, the previous owners “updated” the bath with laminate bamboo floors and a plastic surround. at first glance it looked great when we saw the house.
but, the adhesive behind the plastic surround isn’t lasting and the laminate isn’t great at this point.
the two problems is that i haven’t looked behind the surround (i have to reseal it around the edges so i’ll have the chance to see what i’m working with), and the bathroom floor could either easily be taken up and replaced with tile, but it’s a couple inches higher than the hallway floor so i’m worried about what’s under the laminate and what the condition of the subfloor is.

You did it yourself? I wish I had those kinds of skills. I feel like I could do a half-assed job of it, but the little mistakes I’d be left with would drive me crazy.
August 20th, 2012 at 10:10 AM
yeah. the surround, if i do it myself, will be the glass tile sheets. my wife wants full size subway tile, i’m trying to talk her into the sheet size due to simplicity sake. unfortunately she’s starting to take the attitude that she doesn’t care putting fullsize tile in the surround could impact our use of the shower (in our only bathroom) for longer than a day.

For those of you that played in the TBL fantasy league I ran last year, check your inboxes….I renewed the league today. I’ll be sending out invites for the Pick Em and Survival Leagues this week as well and post the information here for those that are interested in playing.

yeah, did it myself. I’m not the handiest person in the world, and I messed up by attempting the largest area (kitchen) first instead of the bathrooms, so my grout gaps ended up a little off. it really wasn’t all that hard, just kind of time consuming, and hard on your body. and kind of messy.

Kind of a cliche way to go out. Now, if he set himself on fire first? That’s the way to do it.

I call bullshit. Someone who “reads dozens of books each week” may be skimming though them, but is not reading them.
