Despite having mediocre receivers and running backs at Stanford – he did have a star tight end in Coby Fleener, whom the Colts wisely drafted – Luck was a Heisman Trophy finalist.

Okay, while Luck wasn’t throwing to the best group of receivers in college, his last two years he has had some pretty decent options. Doug Baldwin is an NFL caliber WR, Coby Fleener the top TE prospect in last year’s draft, and Chris Owusu would have been drafted had he not had concussion problems.

And maybe no RBs were otherworldly, but he had arguably the best offensive line in front of him in the nation. Would you rather have a great RB or a great o-line? I think everyone knows who a QB would choose in that scenario.

Watched a good part of the Steelers game and Luck’s passes tended to flutter a little, wasn’t as strong an arm as I expected. He’ll be ok in the dome, but watch for some Peyton like stinkers in any kind of weather.

What a horrible idea.

Depending on the type of league you’re in, this strategy is actually pretty decent. The value you gain at the other positions is better than the value gained by taking a premium quarterback.

What Mole said. Luck will be really good, but 4,000 yards and 35 total TD’s is nearly impossible with what is around him.

3300 yards and 22 total TDs with 25 picks would be my guess.

Say what you will about Luck (including dumb comparisons to Cam) but dude looks like a complete freaking moron when they cut to him on the sideline trying to drink from a water bottle.
