Hootie and the Blowfish’s Darius Rucker Talked Smack About Clemson
All, College Football, Music August 20th. 2012, 6:45pm
Hootie and the Blowfish singer and former South Carolina student Darius Rucker is rooting for Clemson to go 11-0…so South Carolina can ruin their season in Gamecock Death Valley just after they overcome the Orange Bowl debacle. His triumphalism is perhaps justified. The Gamecocks have beaten Clemson three times in a row by 17 or more points. Dabo Swinney may retort by removing Cracked Rear View from his car cassette rotation.

Also, Rucker has a mess o’ country stuff out. Coulda used one of the country videos, like “This”. He’s holding his own in the country genre.

a) I didn’t.
b) Not my taste in music but the girls liked it as an alternative to grunge.
Also, that video where all the ESPN anchors were in it? Oh, my. That was bad.
/I was a Freshman in college at the time.
//I will cop to owning that Live cd and seeing them in concert. That lead singer is a pompous jackass.
///Cranks up Jesus Christ Pose.
////Cranks it up louder. My hearing was damaged in the early 90s.
///// Wife tells to turn that shit down.

Ole Fat Tiger Woods talking smack again. I will give them credit for aptly naming their first CD/EP “Kootchypop” as that was likely their only goal in life back then.

a.p. it’s cynical. i know most country stars probably don’t have the hardscrabble rural life they sing about, but they may have come from it. this dude was a millionaire before he started country
there are quite enough country music makers more genuine than this
