Andrew Luck had an impressive debut, and yes, we know that his first touchdown was primarily aided by yards after the catch on a short pass. Even without that, he averaged over 8 yards a pass. So tonight, he gets to go against a Steelers defense where half the starters were playing before Luck was even born. (I didn’t verify that fact, but I think we can assume it to be right.)

Pittsburgh, meanwhile, has a backfield situation that has turned into a mess. Isaac Redman’s injury will keep him out this week. The team took Rashard Mendenhall off the PUP list, but I’m not sure if that is so much a positive sign as it is that they think they may need to work him in by week 4 or 5 out of necessity, just in case. Jonathan Dwyer should be back tonight, and so we’ll see whether he, Chris Rainey, or Baron Batch make a case for more carries in the regular season.
