Strikeforce: Ronda Rousey’s First Title Defense
Ronda Rousey returns to her actual job on Saturday night to defend the Strikeforce women’s 135-pound title against Sarah Kaufman. At just 25-years-old, Rousey is 5-0 in her career with all five wins coming by first round submission. Rousey is a one-trick pony who is so damn good at ponying her trick opponents are lucky to avoid rehab after fights.
This will be Rousey’s first fight since her star took off with her win over Miesha Tate in March. While she’s fought on an Olympic stage, there is no way she’s ever had so many distractions. She’s a legitimate celebrity at this point. She’s used trash talk the way that Chael Sonnen did to bully her way into a title fight and so far, she’s been good enough to back it up.
Still, it’s early in her career and she’s taking on a former champion. Sarah Kaufman has lost just once in 16 fights. She’s been featured on this blog before for doing incredibly badass things like knocking out Roxanne Modaferri with a vicious slam. Kaufman has also defeated Miesha Tate and 10 of her 15 wins have come via knockout. It’s a cliche because its true – if Sarah Kaufman can keep this fight standing, she has a chance. If Ronda Rousey gets this to the ground, she probably doesn’t.” Rousey has never looked comfortable on her feet.

What you have to tell yourself is that the one girl in the ring tried to serve her husband cold spaghetti, and the other girl is just teaching her a lesson.
