Notre Dame’s Shamrock Series May Be the Ugliest Uniforms of All Time

All, College Football Ty Duffy August 16th. 2012, 4:22pm

We weren’t sure Adidas could top Notre Dame’s goldgasm helmets from last year. They did. Notre Dame will hit the Soldier Field turf in this Shamrock Series Techfit ensemble to face Miami in October. The collective laughter will be deafening. Adidas is attempting to make the white Leprechaun on blue back drop a thing (it isn’t). From that pant/helmet side, Notre Dame will have a look more fitting for Toledo. The sassy socks will be an undoubted hit with the Ara Parseghian crowd. Just…wow. If there were no connotations of Notre Dame I would probably wear those socks to the beach. Maybe with some flip-flops and khaki shorts.

I’m not a ND-hater although I somewhat resent all the attention they get even though their on-field results haven’t justified it in my adult life. So to this I say HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

The pants with the jersey and the traditional helmet as the same color as the pants would have been a great throwback (if not too GaTech), but this is just so so so awful.

With a regular helmet, the rest of the uniform would be fine. The helmet is the only thing that’s “too much.”

What a glorious day this is when Lady of the Lake have to wear a scarlet letter of their own irrelevance. Are they hoping recruits confuse them for Michigan and sign?
The only way I could describe this is Drew Barrymore trying to pretend to be a high school kid in “Never Been Kissed.” When searching for a metaphor to describe these uniforms you are damned by association.

I realize I’m in the minority but I actually liked those. They need to be thrown out simply because of how terribly Michigan played in them, but I don’t care if they dick around with the road uniforms, just don’t mess with the home uniform and don’t touch the helmets

Great deal, $50 for both courses. Must hit it straight back 9 on Players Club or you’re done. It is tight. Regular course is comparable to a decent muni. Both have suprising elevation for central Ohio farmland.

i was blown away the first time i saw 13…it seriously looks like a tsunami with the rolling hills. and it changes completely right there too…first 12 are fairly flat if i remember correctly. and damn it’s narrow.

us amateur is on tonight…w00t.
next year gonna try the cleveland amateur…qualifying and the championship are at two great courses i play frequently, but even if i shoot my average for two rounds (85 for the qual course, 82 for the champ course), id still be way far back from making it through qualifying.
unless somehow i can magically shave about 10 strokes off my handicap in six months. might start prayin’.
