Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton was scrimmaging with the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury when he caught an inadvertent elbow from Nakia Sanford while going for a rebound. The elbow left him with a broken nose. While your immediate reaction might be to make fun of Stanton for getting his nose broken by a girl or playing with WNBA players instead of the Suns, you should give him a break. If I were mayor of a city with a WNBA team, I would totally go to practice everyday and demand to play in the scrimmages. This would be all I would do. That’s why I would be a one-term mayor, but still. Totally worth it to be able to practice with professional basketball players everyday and not worry about getting dunked on.
