2012 majors: Rory 1, Tiger 0. When you get a major in the bag, your year is valdidated. When you are Tiger and Phil and say it’s all about the majors and don’t, well, it’s a lost year. Those are the stakes for those guys.

Tiger is going to win all four majors next year and laugh at all the media writers. Did you see him give a ball to that kid in a wheelchair yesterday? Nothing from Nantz on that, but on Saturday when he two people and signed two gloves for those people, CBS put up a graphic on it.

It was kind of funny, I think it was the 5th hole, something like “5 strokes, 1 bogey, two gloves signed”

tiger’s getting there…contending’s a good first step. nobody’s really stepped up in his absence, esp not with rory going t40, cut and t60 in the first three this year…

This is kind of my point. If everybody is struggling, as evidenced by so many new major winners, then you can’t say it’s just Tiger. There’s got to be something else that is affecting the entire field.

I guess it comes down to winning vs placing, right? Rory and Phil have mulitple majors in the timeframe, but Tiger probably has more top 10 finishes.

dont think so.

I’m more of a baseball guy, but a sabermetrician is more apt to compare Mike Trout to other 21 year olds and Bryce Harper to other 19 year olds than to compare them to other rookies.

because they can compare minor league stats, etc. cant do that with amateur or college events…

tiger had 3 us amateur wins in that span too…he won everything everywhere he’s been. why would i care about age when at the same ages, tiger’s had half as many starts?

Roors played well but I’m disappointed in Eldrick. That course didn’t look like it was exceptionally challenging and going in to the 3rd round he was paired in the last group. To get lapped by McIlroy on Sunday….Would never have happened 5-7 years ago.

FUCK NO. tiger was an amateur for three years while rory was a pro if we’re going by ages…why should we go by age if rory gets a three year head start?
