This trade is crap for the Sixers. How can you be a contender with Kwame Brown, Nick Young and Jason Richardson on the same team? Seriously. If they were in the West they wouldn’t even make the playoffs. They’re a 6th seed at best.

I agree with this. But, I do see the problem that Bynum is only under contract for 1 more year and likely wouldn’t re-sign in Orlando anyway. So they would basically be trading a whiny center surrounded by shit that won’t re-sign for a whiny center surroudned by more shit (albeit not Duhon and J-Rich contracts) that won’t re-sign.

Scola is old and wouldn’t really do anything for their long term.

That offer would have made them a better team, but at best it would have kept them near .500 which is NBA-hell. Scola (before amnesty) was under contract for 3 more years at $21 and Lowry, though an upgrade, plays the same position as Nelson who was just signed for 3/$20.

And yes, Orlando didn’t get equal value. But teams trading superstars rarely (if ever) get equal value.
