Ryan Mathews Breaks Clavicle, Out 4 to 6 Weeks
Ryan Mathews left tonight’s game with a shoulder injury after one carry. He is now the current poster boy for the risk of injury in preseason games. According to Michael Gehlken, Mathews suffered a broken clavicle and will now be out 4-6 weeks. That estimate would put him potentially returning for the season opener in the best case scenario while missing the rest of the preseason, and missing the first two games in a worst case, before working back into the mix.
Mathews has yet to play a full season since entering the league two years ago, and is already in jeopardy of making it three years in a row with missed games due to a variety of injuries. The positive: once this heals, there should be no long term concern if it heals properly.

I tried telling my friend to not have the fucking draft yesterday. He drafted both Mathews and Vick.

NEVER have a Draft before Preseason Game 3. It’s just playing russian roulette then.

I know. I don’t understand what his hurry was, I still drafted based on how I normally would have gone about it, just got some more solid & often uninjured players behind them.

I’ve seen this before gentlemen. I’m afraid that young Mr. Matthews suffers from Fredtayloritis.

Never have your draft until after the preseason. Seems like common sense, no?

Wow. Well, opportunity awaits for the next guy in line. This hurts a bit, but it’s part of the game.
