Machado was only hitting .265 at AA. He’s well over a year a way. I can’t believe they did that to him. Bundy probably could’ve started the season at AA. That kid looks awesome.

He was hitting over .350 since the Futures Game. As a Machado owner in my main league, I think it’s too early (would have preferred next June/July), but maybe the O’s wanted to see what he could do, especially in September, when the competition is weakened.

Apparently he will play 3rd with the big club. JJ Hardy is having another solid year at short for the O’s. Most of the scouts and prospect guys think he’s still a SS long term but this is a short term move. Let’s face it. Chris Davis and Mark Reynolds suck so Machado can’t do much worse than them.

Manny Machado got called up by the Orioles yesterday. They also moved Dylan Bundy to Double-A Bowie in the corresponding move. Orioles Magic just got a lot more interesting for the last 8 weeks of the season.

I’ve only seen him play two times. Futures game and they finally had a Pensacola (managed by Jim Riggleman!) game on MiLB.tv a couple weeks ago. He goes 90 feet faster than just about anyone I’ve ever seen. Maybe faster than Rickey. It surprises me that he’s not an outfielder.

I think a lot of scouts expect him to get moved to CF in the future.
