Irish Fans Threw Bananas On the Pitch During a Manchester City Friendly
All, Soccer, What the hell is wrong with people August 6th. 2012, 7:15pm
Manchester City was in Ireland for a friendly against Limerick FC on Sunday. According to Man City’s Gael Chichy, bananas were thrown on the pitch during the game. Police are looking into the matter, but no arrests have been made. Whoever did it joins a prestigious list of idiots who have thrown bananas at sporting events as some sort of statement.
How sad to see “bananas thrown on the pitch” tonight… Knowing people around the world need food.#nowordsforthis

Someday soon, bananas will be pitched and Chik-Fil-A sammiches will become the hate weapon of choice among sports hooligans.

This is an old irish tradition dating back to the time of Cú Chulainn welcoming the vikings who preceding to rape the potatoes out of my fore fathers. No offence meant i’m sure.

Maybe if black people knew how to properly use quotation marks this wouldn’t happen.

Like Esperanto, Ebonics eschews the imperialistic dictates of punctuation.

By the way, there’s a pretty entertaining movie made entirely in Esperanto: Incubus. It came out in 1966 and stars William Shatner. It’s a horror film about witches and a goat-man, and is sort of Imgar Bergman meets William Castle.
Until 2001, all copies of Incubus were believed to have been lost. That year, a French-subtitled copy was found in Paris, and thus was Incubus saved from the mists of ignominity.
I am proud to proclaim that I own a copy of Incubus on DVD and have watched it in its entirety at least twice, both times extremely inebriated.

Gael clichy deserves to be hated…not for his skin colour…that is wrong.
Because he is french. The Irish should have thrown crepes at it
