Andy Reid’s Son, Garrett Reid, Found Dead in Room at Training Camp

Sad news out of Eagles camp at Lehigh University this morning. The team has announced that Garrett Reid, the oldest son of coach Andy Reid, was found dead in a dorm room this morning. Garrett was at camp with his father assisting the strength coaches. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Reid family.
[UPDATE: Here is the statement from Chief Edward Shupp of the Lehigh University Police Department.
This morning at approximately 7:20 am, officers received a 9-1-1 call about an unresponsive male in the Sayre Park dormitories. Upon arrival it was observed that attempts were made to revive the individual and it was unsuccessful. The individual, Garrett Reid, was deceased upon the officer’s arrival. There were no suspicious activities.]

Sympathies to the family. 29 is awful young to lose your life and to lose a son.
This kid had gotten in some trouble with heroin right?

With a absentee father like Andy was, and his son’s past troubles, is this really a surprise? Wonder if the noted workaholic Andy has any regrets about his life.

Heartbreaking news. Condolences to the Reids.

Yes, he is one that was in drug treatment about 5 years ago. Whether those things had anything to do with this, we don’t know.

Thoughtful words, garmy.

What the fuck is wrong with people?

Absentee as in brought his kid with him to training camp to spend time with him?

Awful news. Heard Reid will be taking a break – first appropriate time out he’s called in years.

Asshole troll. No father should ever have to bury their child, and you have to come and shit all over it. Prayers go out to Coach Reid and his family.

While very sad for the Reid family, it also shows that nepotism is alive and well even in the NFL. His kid had a plum job, something that countless very qualified people would have killed to have landed. But because he was the head coach’s kid, he got the job.

This story definitely calls for a nepotism discussion, especially today. Christ.

Lots of sanctimony on a dong blog.

Nothing more sanctimonious than immediately after a person’s death to go in on the dad’s work habits and if that may have contributed to the death/any regrets. I’m sure any father that loses a son regrets a lot about what they could have done differently regardless if it has to do with the death or not,

And these guy here block my posts for simply agreeing with chick fila and the boy scouts but they let that clown post that shti above. Pathetic. Mr. Reid my condolences. I’ve know quite a few H addicts who are long gone. H is the devil and all of his brothers. Even if he were clean of dope most move onto xanex and alcohol which are lethal. It’s the closest way to get that H feeling. It’s also legal. Many coming off H later on use a psych or doctor and speak of depression, being lethargic etc to cop xanex. Then you mix it up and before you know it you’ve drifted off to your final stop. Xanex and alcohol are e easiest way to trick people ino thinking your clean while still getting high. You rationalize by saying you need it to keep from being depressed which leads to relapse so peoplearnts buy in. Take time Andy to be with your family and find yourself in your new life. When you lose a child it’s like starting over but not with a happy and determined outlook, it’s an outlook of what ifs and is it my fault.

What was the job, anyway? Assisting strength/conditioning coaches? Sounds like a dad who wanted his son to be around and in camp.

Xanax is only legal if it’s prescribed to you.

Monster I have a few buddies(broads and dudes) and they all have xanex. It is not hard to obtain. A few of those boys are still junkies who have 5 doctors prescribing it to them.. Also H is not legal in anyway shape or form. That is my point.

Yo garmy, you’re a piece of shit for saying that. A man lost his son today, something that no man/woman should ever have to deal with. Do you have kids? I’m willing to bet you don’t. If you do, then I feel sorry for them.
Yo ddmcs, you’re still an idiot. You’ll be blocked again in no time.

Garmy…way too soon but you aren;t 100 percent wrong. Dad needs to be around. Lots of pro athletes kids have gone to shit for that reason. But just for today…piss off
