Team USA Survives Fourth Quarter Challenge From Lithuania, 99-94
Team USA blew out Nigeria two days ago with red hot shooting. Today, against a zone defense from the Lithuanians, Team USA shot too much from outside and was cold for much of the game. Meanwhile, Lithuania shot a blistering 63% from 2-point range while hitting 7 of 16 threes, paced by Linas Kleiza. The outcome was very much in doubt as Lithuania took a lead halfway through the fourth quarter on a Kleiza three point shot.
With just under 4 minutes remaining and the USA holding a one point lead, LeBron James nailed a huge three pointer, and the Lithuanians never again got within 4 points. Kleiza had 25 points for Lithuania, while James and Carmelo Anthony scored 20 points each for Team USA.
