Rex Ryan Doesn’t Think the Guy Who Said Jets Should Go For Two With Tebow Is a Complete Idiot: “That Makes Sense”
Breaking sports news video. MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL highlights and more.
Rex Ryan thinks that whoever came up with the idea that the Jets should go for two point conversions with Tim Tebow isn’t a complete idiot. Who was that? Let’s see if we can look it up. (Though it’s probably more likely that he heard it from Mike Greenberg, which led to a one day ESPN tour)
Ryan, though, says that they probably are not going to do that, even though it makes some sense. Hey, modest proposals, ask for the whole pie, get a big slice. I wouldn’t rule out the Jets being aggressive with a 2 point chart, though, and bringing Tebow in more frequently than other teams to surprise the opposition.

Lisk is strutting around Kansas City like he owns the place right now.

Have to get 6 before you can get 2….

It makes complete fucking sense. They shouldn’t even carry a PK this year. Go for it on FG situations, too.

/Ball flies 10 yards over open receiver in end zone. Sanchez
/Ball bounces off ground 10 yards in front of open receiver on their own 30 yard line. Tebow

Lisk wouldn’t want to own Kansas City. High murder rate, crumbling infrastructure, loads of debt.

You didn’t even mention the idyllic weather. 110 degrees for six weeks straight in summer; ice storms in winter.

Ice storms are the worst. Fortunately, we haven’t had a bad one in a few years. My new place out here in the country has buried lines. That was a big influence on getting the place we did. I was living in midtown when we had that really bad one. My power was only out for a few hours, but I knew people who didn’t have power for 10 days. No heat, pipes bursting, etc…

What team actually tries to block FGs? Most have a base defense in the game, so … little-to-no surprise.

^^^ should say PATs

Maybe Lisk could just own Westport then?

Nothing is as bad as Lincoln in the winter.
It’s the worst, Jerry, the worst!
Also, still adjusting to Skinny Rex. He doesn’t look right.

Westport is better now. It had become a crime ridden, violent hellhole. Lisk seems like a Waldo area guy. Tons of bars within walking distance, inculding a brewery. Waldo Pizza and their 8000 varieties of beers. Family friendly.

Oh no, I like Westport a lot. It’s where we stayed at when we were down for Radiohead in March. Prefer that area to the douche-central that is Power and Light at night.

That’s right. I remember that. The last time I was in Westport was late May for my brother’s bachelor party. I was impressed. When I lived in that area I never went to Westport because of the nightly brawls.
We went to Buzzard’s Beach, Kelly’s, McCoy’s, and a few other bars that had changed names and oh boy I was drunk. Where did you stay in KC?
By chance since you like Radiohead, MMJ is playing Starlight on Monday. Freaking Monday. Tuesday will be rough for me.

Really? I would imagine most places would have either extreme heat and mild winters or mild summers and extreme winters, not both. That sucks.

Plattsburgh, NY and Van Burnen, ME would like a word about that.
August 4th, 2012 at 3:17 PM
About Plattsburgh, the year I left we had 45 days straight where the temperature didn’t get above -18….that’s 18 with a – in front of it and a snow storm on Memorial Day.

Kansas City usually has one or the other. This past winter was really mild. We had 3 inches of snow total. The two winter’s before we had 30+ inches each and normal summers (a few hundred degree days, but mostly 90s and some rain.) This summer has been 100+ degrees since June (however, right now it is 84 degrees. Coolest 2:30 pm temp since the June. It is lovely out.) My place has had less than an inch since May. I haven’t mowed in 10 weeks. That is on the extreme end.

Fuck that. I’ll take the heat. Our coldest winters will have a handful of days that don’t get above 10 degrees. Maybe three or four at most. I enjoy Kansas cold (20s.)
August 4th, 2012 at 3:52 PM

Here in Delaware it rarely gets really cold. Problem is you get that wind off the ocean and that shit will make you downright miserable. I was trying to describe the difference of colds to my cousin up north, and best I came up with is where it’s a lot colder up there, it takes a little bit to catch up to you. Down here even though it’ll be 30 degrees warmer, you throw 20-30 mph coastal winds in the mix and you’ll be a shivering son of a bitch.
August 4th, 2012 at 3:55 PM
The past two summers in Dallas have been a bitch. If there’s one thing I miss most about California, it’s the coastal weather. Rarely above 80 in the summer, rarely below 50 in the winter.

Living by the ocean is awesome in the summer. But unless in a place like you were Nada where it stays 50+ in the winter, that awesomeness vanishes like a fart in the wind.
August 4th, 2012 at 4:03 PM
Also Nada, is that really all the warmer it gets in California? I always thought they’d be hovering around the triple digits. Never been there.
August 4th, 2012 at 5:18 PM
It gets really hot inland, Meth — triple digits in the East and the valleys. But the coast is pleasingly moderate, especially in the southern half of the state.
August 4th, 2012 at 5:19 PM
That’s East Bay, by the way.
August 4th, 2012 at 5:22 PM
As one of the 2 distinguished representatives of St. Louis, allow me to corroborate KC Resident’s wx complaints. Mild winter = brutal summer. If this brutal summer somehow becomes a hellish winter, I may have to consider moving again.
August 4th, 2012 at 5:29 PM
If this brutal summer somehow becomes a hellish winter
We usually get one or the other. We’ve had 3 years of mild of both up until this summer, which even it hasn’t been the worst. Mother nature’s been holding it in and she’s getting ready to ‘splode one of these seasons.
/bitch
August 4th, 2012 at 5:35 PM
But at some point, it’s got to reverse itself. I mean, the mild winter led to a shitty summer in the midwest. It can’t keep perpetuating that same cycle. If it ices and snows for most of the winter, I’m going to be one bundled up ball of fury.

Aren’t some of their volcanoes active? What about Tsunamis? Which according to the Japanese, are formed when Godzirruh slaps a blue whale with his dong.
