UFC on FOX: Shogun, Vera, Machida and Bader Will All Fight Jon Jones. At Once.
Earlier this week I broke down the many reasons it was so fucking absurd that Brandon Vera might earn a title shot with a win over Shogun Rua Saturday night. I wasn’t the only one who thought it was crazy, so Dana White answered his critics by declaring the winner of Ryan Bader – Lyoto Machida would get the title shot if he won more impressively than Vera or Shogun. Again – Huh? Jon Jones has crushed all four of those dudes. To his credit, Bader is the only person who has actually won multiple fights since being destroyed by Jon Jones. Whatever.
Out of the four guys Lyoto was the toughest puzzle, brandon had the biggest mouth, bader felt the strongest, shogun lasted the longest. lol

Joe Lauzon and Jamie Varner should be a good fight. DaMarques Johnson and Mike Swick are both in need of a win. But why is Phil Davis stuck on the undercard? Dude is 9-1 with his only loss coming in a title eliminator to Rashad Evans. The UFC must hate Phil Davis. If anyone on this card deserves a chance to win and earn a title shot, it’s Phil Davis. Why the Hell is Phil Davis on the undercard fighting a guy making his UFC debut!? Davis has beaten Stann and Alexander Gustafsson, the one guy in the light heavyweight division who probably does deserve the next title shot.

Of those 4 I’d prefer to see Machida again. I think his fights are generally interesting and he was actually pretty effective against Jones. Well, for one round. However, it’s ridiculous that he’d get a title shot after 1 win. After Jones and Henderson, That division is in shambles. Jones has thoroughly dismantled everyone.

Only one I see out of the 4 having any kind of shot against Bones is Bader, just because he is the only one who could match up strength wise. Machida might get lucky because of his technical prowess…but him, shogun, vera will only find themselves choked out against the cage like children. Bones is too big and strong for them

I find Wendys to be VERY location dependent. There are some where the food you get is always fresh and put together nice, and there are others where the place is a dump and your food is disgusting.
Wendy’s and BK seem to be the 2 with the biggest variance in quality.

That’s something I never thought about but now that you mention it that sounds about right. I don’t know that I’ve ever had a horrible BK experience. That burger I got today from Wendy’s was just gross. Bread was all soggy because it was saturated with ketchup and mayonnaise. I about ran out of the napkins they gave me and I was only halfway through it.

Comcasts new commercials about DTV contract and doubling rates may push me over the top, since Comcast is so much more expensive to begin with.
I just dont want a contract, or a dish/cables etc. There used to be a satellite at our place I think, and they must have taken it when the owners died, because all I got was trying to remove 100s of feet of coax from the wall/subfloor, and a maze of cables and outlets scattered throughout the house.
Plus one room literally had four phone jacks. And the deck installed wrong so it rotted the rim joist through. People are fucking idiots.

I’m not (never been) a Lavarnway fan. He might be okay. I really wish they had traded him when they could get a nice return. Keeping prospects only works when they aren’t blocked by bloated contracts all over the major leagues. Ellsbury is the only one that will work out, since they can trade or qualifying offer him, and get picks/prospects in return. Assuming Bradley is as good as he seems, he should be ready for 2014.

For Boras, I’m sure. They might have to try to trade him mid 2013, if he’s playing great in a contract year. Depends how he plays Aug/Sep.
Biggest thing for me going from high 80′s to low 80′s was to make 6 foot putts. Can really steal a lot of up-and-downs that way.
Also increasing % of greens hit from 75-150 out. Gotta get those GIRs on short par 4s. I’m the Chuck Knoblauch of short-irons right now. Can’t hit a full wedge without chunking it 20 yards short.

Penalty strokes have never been the issue. I struggle off the tee (although getting better from taking a lesson) and no matter how much I practice I can’t seem make putts consistently.

Seriously the putter is the only club I’ve spent countless dollars on to find the ‘right’ one — and the one I have and will never give up using I ended up with for free. The old man got drunk with a club rep in Pinehurst and the guy gave him an old prototype they’d mocked up for Vijay Singh. Very heavy, but I have a tendency to get my ‘putter caught in my skirt’ so it really helped me. For the life of me I can’t remember the brand (wasn’t Cleveland) and I’m too shot in the ass to wander down to the car and pull it.

Extension generally hurt it the most, though it actually feels a little better now that I kept on moving and prodding it trying to localize the pain… mostly felt like there was something in there, and not anything muscle/tendon related I’d think.

Rollo, staying up late at night and getting drunk, or at least watching her get drunk, a few days after it all started is not going to help your argument when it all comes out.
If she is crazy, she can accuse you of all kinds of stuff and then it’s her word against yours. Her parents may not be ready to accept that she is nuts and it could ruin your relationship with them. If it really gets out of hand, she could put your job in jeopardy too. Your actions to this point don’t indicate that you are doing everything to discourage and expose the behavior.

80% suggested getting out of dodge. 20% or maybe less seriously or jokingly wanted me to escalate it. i went with the 80% on that one.
i’m not saying i break it out at a family intervention, but they find out when the wife gets pissed at the sister.
can’t remember how much i have said about this. the SIL is the baby of the family, gets whatever she wants (well, almost), and definitely goes for the drama. the d’bag boyfriend and her situation with him brought that out. the guy threatened her friends in college, restraining order, she lost the friends because she stayed with the guy, then secretly the relationship with him for three months until they figured it out when she moved home. plus the drinking…the one time she spent the night at our old house, she made out with someone at a party and passed out under the blinds in the kitchen.

I still haven’t played Skyrim. I wanted to get excited for it so bought Oblivion a month or so before Skyrim’s release. Went 2 hours and gave up. I started getting into RPG’s a couple of years ago, that’s just not one I can do.
Started KOTOR last night though, downloaded both that and KOTOR II.

We talkin’ sports injuries up in here?? I was just diagnosed with a TFCC aggravation. Thought I had torn something, as the wrist hurt for a few weeks before i decided to ice and immobilize it. Went to the ortho and the xrays were negative, so i guess i have dodged a bullet for now. I still have a overly-worried mind telling me it may be a tendon tear, but the ortho laughed and said “dude, let’s treat the pain and take some anti-inflamatory drugs and see what happens”

I give bad advice jokingly, but my wife is my best friend, and I tell her everything. I tell her about stupid random conversations here. I tell her if someone makes me mad on twitter. I tell her if a random girl offers to buy me a drink when I’m out with her (happened once). Even if you don’t give every detail, you gotta at least drop enough hints so it’s a softer blow, and makes it more believable if/when you have to let more details drop. I am relatively insanely protective of my relationship with my wife and my family, and I would do anything to keep that from being jeopardized, or being dramatic… I’d recommend a similar policy.

Think of this like a political campaign. This is a story that could do damage to your campaign (marriage). Smart politicians get out in front of a story to manage it. If the SIL decides to pull your sister aside and claim that you purposely walked in on her and have been making lewd advances, you’re playing defense. kicked out of Benedictine this winter w/o graduating. restraining order for threatening one of the SIL’s roommates. i believe he had her backed up against a wall but didn’t touch her. she broke it off with him, he stole and changed the FB and email passwords and deactivated the accounts, would show up outside of her classes. went back with him! the three of her roommates demanded she move out. we nearly had to take her in! yikes! lied to the parents that she wasn’t around anymore but they found out he was back in the picture controlling her.

i think it depends on the user and what the names are. Like Glorious Mullet is Mullet to me. You could see someone write glorious and skip over it. Mullet is a little harder to miss, subconsciously. I guess the same logic applies to walking vs Underwear.

hard to say. it used to be bumpin’ back in the old days. i think a lot of it depends on the time of year. when football/basketball/baseball are on at the same time, watch out. However, for the material we have to work with in the sporting world at this time of year, TBLAD can be forgiven for not being a hoppin’ joint. But with that being said, i think SILGate has helped, as has some new blood showing up around here.

Yeah, I gave up on Oblivion the same way. And I like RPGs. Made me stay away from Skyrim until the wife surprised me with it. Fucking loved it within 20 minutes. It’s been shelved while I play Civilization 4 on the Mac, but I’ve beaten the game and have been going around doing other side missions and shit.

I’ll probably give Skyrim a shot. Again, playing the two KOTOR’s now then still have to get Max Payne 3 (I did the Red Box thing about a week after release, and didn’t know 360 had 2 discs for it and Red Box only gave out the 1…so I played 1/2 the campaign and still sour about it even though the game itself was good), so it’ll be a while. Birthday coming up in a couple weeks, so some extra money will make games ahead of it go quicker.

coop’d falls into the dong pix category. Way overused, but still brings a chuckle in the right situation. Abd sometimes the overuse becomes amusing in itself, the way something can stop being funny, then gets repeated so much it becomes ludicrous and therefore funny again.

To jump in late on the convo, I thought Skyrim was the best game ever…for awhile, then it got repetitive. Then I restarted it a couple months later, and finally beat it, and then the side missions got repetitive. Fun game, beautiful at times (some of the river areas were amazing) but I preferred probably 2 or 3 games that came out last year to it. Also, I like the post-apocalylptic style of Fallout more than the LOTR-style of Skyrim and I hope Fallout 4 uses Skyrim’s engine.

SROD, you’d have loved it here back in the day. TBLAD routinely had 400-500 comments a night, guys telling stories, arguing over pointless shit, wisecracks were made, guys kept trying to one up each other, lawn care tips exchanged, Roundup pic suggestions were given (and ignored), random weirdos were scoulded and driven out. Fun times.
