Rob Bolden Made an Official Visit to LSU
Things were just too stable without Jordan Jefferson. LSU is reportedly recruiting Penn State’s backup quarterback Rob Bolden. The oft-maligned Michigan native is reportedly making an official visit this weekend. He would be a backup to entrenched starter Zach Mettenberger.
It’s not a terrible move. Bolden’s 2011 season was a mess. He completed just 39 percent of his passes in limited action with a 2-7 touchdown ratio. However, his freshman season was not that bad (58 percent completion, 7.0 yards per attempt). That and his transfer attempt strongly suggest he was not happy in State College.
There is a chance Bolden may blossom with a change of scenery. A quarterback coach that is not Jay Paterno could coax out some of the raw ability from Bolden that saw him rated the second overall dual threat quarterback out of high school in 2010.
Best case: Bolden becomes a plausible starter for 2013. Worst case: LSU adds some depth and blows a scholarship.

You did see how the coaches at LSU really helped those quarterbacks, right?

Mettenberger’s hands are entrenched on LSU co-ed TnA.

and blows a scholarship.
Maybe we shouldn’t use that word in a Penn State article.

I’m guessing he would be converted to WR like Russell Shepherd was.

Send him to Kansas so he can hangout with the rest of the quarterbacks that underperformed.

You can have him – no seriously, please take him.

He’s actually somehow even worse at running than he is at throwing, and he’s flat out terrible at throwing.
/please, please take him

It’s all part of Les Miles’s unappreciated genius. While some teams favor the no-dhuddle offese, The Hat is developing the no-quarterback offense.

Actually, his scholarship would not count against the 85 limit.
