speaking of balls, the Srixon Zstar is a close #2 behind the ProV 1x now. played them last week and they’re easily better than the Nike, Callaway, and Taylormade tour balls. the Bridgestone B330 is #3.

it’s all personal preference, obviously, but i just never hit srixons well. id go prov1x, nike 20xi-x, cally hex, b330, tp5. it’s more a matter of fit than a matter of quality these days. i was surpised how nice the wilson premium ball felt…well, until i lost it.

haven’t played u/3 maxfli’s…not exactly a ringing endorsement either.

id be cool with having an LW that doesn’t match the rest of the wedges.

I’m struggling with this right now. I want an Eye 2+ BeCu lob wedge to match my set, but I can get a set of Vokeys for the same price as the BeCu lob.

Straightening out my driver has been a tremendous difference maker.

my uncle was saying “drive for show, putt for dough” as i had one of my four 3-putts sunday (greens were stupid fast)…i was currently five up on him thru 14 to which i said “at least im in the show and not in the woods.”

the driver needs to be a strength of everyone’s game…it is so damn important, i cannot stress it enough. look at tiger this weekend…didnt pull driver and didn’t attack the course…didnt have that many attempts at birdies either. meanwhile, for 68 holes, scott brought that place to its knees.

See I am not a fan of having a mis-matched driver and fairway wood. Not at all.

I used to be like that and then I started getting better. my whole bag is a hodge podge really. Cobra driver, Taylor Made 3 wood, Callaway irons, Clevelande wedges, tear drop putter.

Was really striping the ball Saturday, played one of my best rounds ever. Straightening out my driver has been a tremendous difference maker.

I like a uniformity of shaft/grip/style. Maybe when I get a bit better it wont be an issue.

no doubt…i guess it’s just to which degree you’re OCD about it. since i only have one driver, 3w and hybrid, each serves a unique purpose…but if i had a 5w or an extra hybrid, id def want it to match both model and with the same shaft installed.

i could see being bugged by a 3w and 5w not matching, or one being white the other being black, but other than that, i see the driver as a pure specialty club like a lob wedge. id be cool with having an LW that doesn’t match the rest of the wedges.
