He’s dead. He’s not going to be prosecuted. The statue thing is just a PR move, it’s not like he has to be found guilty in a court of law for it to be taken down. As far as I’m concerned they can have their own narrative, but every statement has them aligning their views with the victims. Feel free to defend JoePa, but my guess is that JoePa’s reputation isn’t the mother’s of those boys first concern. Their personal “investigation” has nothing to do with helping the victims and they need to stop acting as if it does.

Well, and they miss the point that he did have a hearing, with a Grand Jury, and he lied.

I’ve never remotely tried to defend Joe or any of the others’ action, but statements like this are moronic. The hearing was regarding Sandusky’s actions, no JoePa’s. At a Grand Jury hearing you answer (ideally truthfully) what’s asked of you – it’s not a public forum for you to espouse whatever facts/opinions you feel are relevant. The family’s statement is that Joe has not had due process, not Jerry.

/Yes – it does seem conclusive that Joe lied to the Grand Jury

Geee, I wonder why JoePa died so quickly after this story broke.

The one thing I’ll never understand though is why they continued to allow Sanduski on campus. I can see where they would fire him after the locker room incident and keep it quiet, but why allow him back and let him use your facilities to keep stalking kids? He had something on JoePa or Penn State. If he didn’t, he would have “retired” and never retuned to campus.
