Not telling Lin anything, especially about how to spend his money.. Just pointing out a fact: when the chips were down he cared about his pain more than the team’s success.

That’s definitely not the argument I am making. Rondo is far the better player. I am simply suggesting that Lin will be an avg PG who will look slightly better than average in PER (not that PER is a be-all and end-all statistical measure).

On a young team, with no star, with Houston’s offensive sets, and no one competing with Lin for minutes, he’s going to put up decent counting numbers (points, rebounds, assists). Whether he proves efficient at doing so will determining how much he lives up to the contract Houston has given him.

I wonder what it projects for someone like Goran Dragic or Kyle Lowry. Certainly Lowry would be higher than Lin, I would think. But Dragic? I dunno.

Probably Lowery > Dragic > Lin.

More of a sample size with the first two, so there would be more regression with Lin.

Gotta keep in mind, this isn’t a vet who had millions packed away. Granted he had a Harvard degree to fall back on, but man that’s tough to ask a kid who was basically living on 15 day contracts to pass up a payday to possibly be set for life.

He had a contract for the rest of the year at that point. If you’ve deemed yourself at 85%, then at that point you’re dealing more with pain and discomfort than a chance that you’re going to tear the meniscus again.

I’d like the Lin apologists to get on record and tell me what he’ll do as a full-time starter (which I don’t believe he is).

oh ok, so from your past 2 posts I’ve learned that Melo is the coach of the Knicks that Lin would be crazy to play for, and….Lin’s job is that of a prognosticator and not a player. He gets to decide to sit out of a playoff series based on his prognostications. Brilliant.
