Jason Kidd Allegedly Carried Out of Club Before DWI Arrest
Newly acquired Knicks point guard Jason Kidd was reportedly so drunk Saturday night that he had to be carried out of SL East, a club in Southampton. From TMZ:
According to the multiple witnesses, after being carried out by a few friends, Kidd got in his car to drive off … despite protests from his friends. Kidd left the club around 1:00 AM and crashed his car less than an hour later.
Curious as to what the “protests” from his friends were. I’m guessing the group gave up after two or three courageous requests of “dude, don’t drive,” shrugged, and then went back inside to party.

Hey, let’s carry our passed out friend to his car and put him in the drivers seat to nap. May as well put the keys in the ignition, I am sure he won’t go anywhere.
The minimum effort from a real friend is calling a cab or someone he knows for a ride. Plus, whatever happened to taking someones keys from them?

Cheap bastard. Can’t these guys with millions pay for a cab? Dope.

100% dead on. Kidd probably left his tab open at the bar so the friends went back in for a few more rounds.

He couldn’t find his phone mixed among the fat stacks of cheddar in his pockets.

Carmelo will find a way to blame this on Jeremy Lin.

Don’t have a good one-liner, but I’m glad he didn’t kill anyone while DWI. And, a guy his age ought to know it’s gonna take him longer to recover from the hangover. Stupid on several levels.
Can we blame ‘Melo for being a bad teammate for not giving Kidd a lift?

Jason Kidd blames it on the telephone pole for getting in the way.

I’m guessing a few more telephone poles will get in his way before the year is out.

What gets me about this whole story is just the other day he had an interview where he was talking about being in the stage of his career when he wanted to be more of a mentor to up and coming players. So much for being a source of inspiration.
