Also, from the looks of that inshore area, the only desireable eating fish would’ve been flounder, red drum, or speckled trout. I’ll throw in sheepshead and black drum, but those would have been less likely. The rig they were using looked like a classic flounder rig.

Bull sharks are responsible for the vast majority of shark attacks. And they can survive in fresh water — they’ve caught them hundreds of miles upriver in the Mississippi (!)

That was a red drum; aka redfish, red, drum, etc. That was actually a good keeper-sized fish, and they make pretty good table fare if prepared well.

Team blackened or backed in tin foil with lemon butter.

Fortunately, that shark can only “catch” 2 more redfish in that slot size for the rest of the day. I’d come back in an hour or so and he should have gotten his bag limit by then. THEN, it would be safe to go swimming.
