don’t care was Gottlieb does because I’ll avoid him no matter where he is, but the thought of another sports radio network has me scared shitless, since 3/4 of those doing national radio now are just plain bad.

He’s one of the few willing to take on “sacred cows” but I think that’s become his schtick. He’s become the “Duke/Carolina/Big East sucks” guy.

Valid point, although to be fair, there is some criticism to go around for everyone. He bashed the Lakers like crazy on the night they got Steve Nash, and it was pretty entertaining and not altogether unfair.

Gottlieb is by FAR the most knowledgeable hoops pundit on ESPN in terms of actually knowing teams and players. Bilas has cachet but really only has a handle on the top teams. Also think he would be a huge upgrade for ESPN’s NBA coverage. He has strong opinions and doesn’t care about hurting feelings.

his show was exponentially better than Cowherd-wannabe-Gottlieb’s is. Gottlieb is truly awful and has some terribly informed opinions.

I got your back on this one, I miss his radio show too.

But my espn radio affiliate made the stupid decision a few years ago to tape delay everything 3 hours due to the time difference (I’m in AZ), so between that and the ability to stream other shows on my phone, I turned my back on espn radio.
