Baseball Card Collection Worth Millions Discovered in Ohio Attic
Ohio native Karl Kissner recently found a dusty cardboard box in his deceased grandfather’s attic that conveniently contained a slew of old baseball cards worth millions.
Among the gems found in the discovery were cards from a rare series said to have been issued around 1910, known as the E98 Series, which include legends like Ty Cobb, Cy Young and Honus Wagner. But unlike other existing versions of those cards, the ones found by the 51-year-old Kissner are reportedly in pristine condition. Unbelievable.
“Every future (card) find will ultimately be compared to this,” said Joe Orlando, president of Professional Sports Authenticator.
What a coup. There are supposedly up to 700 cards in the collection totaling an estimated worth of roughly $3 million, according to those deeply entrenched in the “baseball card biz.” Of the 16 Cobb cards in the bunch, all were graded a 9 on a scale of 1-to-10, and the Wagner card was a perfect 10.
The windfall will be equally divided among the 20 cousins named in the will. Sound like reasonable, fair people. Good for them.

My dad used to give me so much hell for wasting money on baseball cards. Old man was probably right, mine aren’t worth a damn thing. Was a lot of fun to collect though.

They got a Noodles Hahn in there?

Wonder if the old man forgot about the stash, or purposely left it to be a surprise discovery?

Also found in that attic: a very sophisticted printing device of some sort, a collection of different types of card stock, an “inks of the world” set, and an authentic game-worn jersey formerly belonging to Abe Lincoln

I recommend this guy sell his cards, buy a sports blog and then use it to resurrect Yardwork.

His later cards not worth so much, especially after his career took a nosedive.

I should contact these people about my extensive early ’90s Red Sox collection.
/Tim Naehring rookie card? Hell yes.

Does it show Naehring in his inimitable sitting-down-at-the-plate “batting stance”?

The only cards I’ve ever had that might be worth something were some michael jordon cards i won in a raffle when i was a kid. My grampa took them from me for “safe keeping.” never saw those motherfuckers again.

This is so fucking badass. My dad and I found 15 cigar boxes (worth a nice chunk on their own) full of 1951 and 1952 Bowman and Topps cards. Included in those were Mays and Mantle 1951 Bowman rookies, each still worth well over $2K each. The whole load is likely worth at least $20K because there were complete sets of some smaller collections.

I think there was a time in the late 80′s/early 90′s. They were auctioning off one of those rare Honus Wagner cards. Some guy tried to spring on the stage, grab the card and run off. They tackled him and he crumpled the card.
