I dont know anything about how things are shot, but I always liked how that movie was filmed.

The bonus content on the Three Kings DVD is solid. Russell uses different film stock/lighting for each of the three acts of the movie. Also, Clooney was getting screwed by the E.R. staff so a bunch of scenes he isn’t there at all, edited in, so they show Ice Cube and Mark, cut over to George, cut back to those guys. Great Heist movie.

Ewoks drag down a good 40 minutes, although the battle at the end of ROTJ is the tits.

i agree with those rankings of yours.

I do find AOTC maligned a little bit too, the Obi-Wan detective parts are really good (esp. the McGregor-Chris Lee dialogue), and I enjoy the end. However the love story stuff is awful.

And we were all trapped out in Pittsburgh shooting this movie, which is the middle of nowhere, so whenever people had a few days off they would ask if they could go to New York, or back to Los Angeles, or elsewhere. I always said “sure”, because why would I want to make anybody sit in Pittsburgh if they’ve got something else to do?

and i can’t watch TPM after seeing a brutal takedown video about how poorly choreographed the lightsaber duels are.
i recommend it, for the simple fact it’s a well done video that points out what all movies do with those kind of battles.

Eh….I always assumed those things were choreographed anyway.

And even with that video, compare those lightsaber fights that were choreographed in the Original Trilogy. Woof.

I’ll have to check that our kaiser, thanks. In hindsight, the lightsaber fight in TPM was really disjointed. AOTC was so different because they spent so little time on it and focused on the close up shots.

yeah, it was filmed better, maybe b/c of how TPM choreography looked when all was said and done.

i haven’t watched ROTS yet on blu ray, but AOTC was far better then TPM and i know i liked ROTS more than AOTC so i’m optimistic.

i know some people that love TPM and i can’t take them seriously.
