Adrian Peterson’s arrest is going to take weeks to sort out. We’ve got lots of he said/police said, some grainy video and now AP’s dad is getting involved. Peterson’s father, Nelson, told the Pioneer Press that the police were quite rude to his son. From Twin Cities.com:

“From what I’ve gathered, he was very disrespectful to Adrian,” Nelson said by phone Monday, July 9.

Peterson’s father was not present during the incident.

Peterson received a black eye when his face hit the ground while he was being detained, Nelson said.

Nelson said it’s his understanding that Peterson did not push the officer, adding that “Adrian has a high regard for people in the military and the officers that help protect us.”

“The officer said he pushed him, shoved him, then why is he not charged with assault?” Nelson said. “Only charged with resisting arrest. Doesn’t make sense.”

He has a point about the lack of an assault charge, right? I’m also guessing that the officer(s) used harsh language. I’ve seen The Wire. It’s expected. I’ll see you guys at the next post when someone says AP was super-duper drunk and karate-kicked a marine.
