Adrian Peterson Was “Wasted” and Tried to Fight a Cop According to Club Manager
Adrian Peterson was arrested and charged with resisting arrest early Saturday morning at a club in Houston. At first, it looked like a slight misunderstanding as cops tackled Peterson after he couldn’t get a glass of water at closing time. Now TMZ is reporting that Peterson was drunk and unreasonable and tried to fight an off-duty police officer.
Daniel Maher, general manager of Live at Bayou Place, tells TMZ that Peterson has been to the club before, but he has never known him to drink much. Last night, however, Maher said Peterson was very drunk and was a difficult customer all night.
Maher says Peterson was throwing his ego around and making people mad, so they put him in the VIP area. Maher says when the club was closing, he rushed over to the bar to try and order one last drink and when he wouldn’t Maher says Peterson “tried to intimidate the bartender” into selling it to him.
At that point the off-duty officer intervened and Peterson allegedly shoved him. Peterson then “assumed a fight stance” and “looked like he meant business.” By the time the cops subdued him (take note NFC North fans), Peterson was apologizing.

Officer JMac still thinks the Houston Police are corrupt and “have nothing better to do.”

How can you be arrested for resisting arrest?
July 8th, 2012 at 11:00 AM
i never used the word “corrupt.” I do think there are better things to do than get all worked up and huffy about a running back at a bar.
Interesting to watch it unfold –
Peterson’s agent runs to PFT with his side.
Police and Bar manager counter by going to TMZ with their smear side.
can’t wait for the video to surface, or if it magically “disappears”

Him and Sergeants Stephanie Stadler & Jemele Hill will continue to impugn the police force & imply racial motivation before knowing nothing about the incident itself. Journalism, 2012 ed.

Business of kicking ass, and business is good!

Peterson then “assumed a fight stance” and “looked like he meant business.”If you knew you were going to spend another season suiting up with Joe Webb and Christian Ponder at QB, you’d get drunk, mad and aggressive toward authority, too.

AP should know it’s better to do your partying on a boat.

This situation, as many do, always makes we wonder why “off duty” police officer matters. Somehow this makes what he did worse?

And you will continue to add absolutely nothing to any discussion you ever partake in.

So a drunk, agressive citizen disobeying orders to leave a bar should be ignored? Ok, gotcha.

Florio said that besides the surveillance video, that there were a buncha people using their cell phones. how in the hell have none of those been uploaded to youtube?

Am I supposed to have any idea — or care — who you are?
TMZ just posted something … that doesn’t really show much of anything.
July 8th, 2012 at 1:33 PM
yeah, just watched that. so it confirms they put him in handcuffs. not worthy of even being shown.

There are enough stories of police force and racial motivation within and outside of Houston with or without your Jemele Hill red herring. But there will always be cop groupies and citizens who hide their fear and cowardice behind bluster and the misguided support of law and order.

Houston’s police force has a long history of being aggressive toward athletes, and black folks in particular. This is nothing new to anyone who knows folks around the various leagues.
This is from a Yahoo article today:

But the point is, if you’re a defense attorney and you have a high profile arrest of a minority without any other charges, that’s a warning flag. And given Houston’s history, a big one.
