John Axford, closer of the Milwaukee Brewers, blew his 5th save of the season last night. Understandably, some fans are not impressed and they are telling Axford as much on Twitter. Axford, who is not shy about his performances – In May he left a note for the media following a blown save when his wife went into labor – has decided to answer some of his critics.

When another person suggested he “quit sucking ass:”

Axford also pointed out that even the greatest closers blow saves every now and then. To his credit, he’s been pretty damn good over the last year. Blown saves happen – just ask Heath Bell. These people need to leave Axford alone. Don’t they know they’re visiting with the Grim Reaper?
