• Tennis star and current purveyor of Wimbledon interviews Pam Shriver was born on the fourth of July.
• In baseball, you have former third baseman Vinny Castilla, utility man Jose Oquendo, and Chuck Tanner, who later became the manager of the “We Are Family” Pittsburgh Pirates who won the World Series in 1979. The most famous, of course, is former Yankees owner George Steinbrenner.
• For the NBA, you have a famous set of twins, Horace Grant and Harvey Grant.
• Several NFL players, including DT La’Roi Glover, Hall of Fame running back Floyd Little, former star cornerback Erich Barnes, Jets Super Bowl hero Emerson Boozer, and current defensive end Will Smith were born on the Fourth of July.
