You’ve watched him play. If a team lets him play to his strengths, he is an asset. I think he would be a good 7th guy on most rosters.

Man, thats asking alot of anyone. He’s an adequate defender who brings effort. But he does bring leadership, scoring ability, a high IQ and good court vision. I think Memphis eventually hurt themsevles by minimizing those assets focusing (and imo overrating) too much on Tony Allen’s defense.

The Grizz will miss him, but I think they expect Wroten to eventually fill that role of combo guard off the bench. The Grizz should have kept Grevis Vasquez for that role, IMHO.

The only way it would be worth it if you’re running D’Antoni’s offense for 1 year, but even at that, not at the expense of trading a young guard for a 40 year old PG who’s best years have been played in a system you just got rid of. I saw movie play out 20 years ago when they traded Rod Strickland for Maurice Cheeks and it wasn’t a good one. But outside of that, if your 2 point guards are going to be Nash and Lin, you’re going to need a 2 guard who can D up 1′s because they can’t.

In my mind, Brooklyn is no better off than they were before.

They instantly have one of the best backcourts in the NBA, one of the best wing defenders in the NBA, and a viable big man. They’re much better than last year.

You’re nuts. Last year, Wallace and Lopez combined to play in 21 games for the Nets. Simply having them for a full season would mark improvement. Then they added one of the best 2-guards in the league not to mention Mirza Teletovic and Reggie Evans. But, you’re right….no better because they lost Jordan Farmar and Johan Petro
