Jason Terry Will Sign With the Boston Celtics
Jason Terry is expected to sign with the Boston Celtics according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Terry, who has spent the last eight years of his career with Dallas, will sign a 3-year deal with the Celtics worth the mid-level exception. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Celtics also hope to retain Ray Allen’s services. Terry will be 35 in September. The Celtics already retained Kevin Garnett, and the addition of Terry should have Boston in position to challenge Miami in the East.
Update: Deal is done per Yahoo!. Now they just wait for July 11.

The part about Ray Allen has to be lip service. Bradley will start, Terry would be the 6th man…I can’t imagine Allen as a 7th man would be a role he’s interested in.

Allen to the Heat. He wasn’t happy about taking a backseat to Avery Bradley, no way he’s sharing minutes with both Bradley and Terry.
Celtics actually have a pretty solid team (if KG can retain his production).

Allen doesnt really want to come off the bench…so…see ya, Ray. Thanks for the past few years

Rondo, bradley, pierce, green, Garnett with a bench of terry, bass, sullinger, melo, dooling (maybe). Still better than most East teams

That’s an undersized starting 4 and 5 though…Garnett is better at the 4 with a big 5.

Heat won a title with LeBron at the 4 and Bosh at the 5. Also I like Bass better than Green.

Pretty sure KG played center during the run the Celts just had. He actually increased his production at the 5.

Allen to the Heat.
Explain how he goes to the Heat. If he’s unhappy about minutes, why go to MIA and sit behind Wade? I don’t get that. If you’re saying LBJ at #1 and Allen/Wade as dual 2-3′s with Wade guarding a PG on DEF, or LBJ on a #4 on defense, not sure how this works….

Maybe Ray Allen wanted to play on MIA – MAYBE, but it kinda sounds like he misplayed this.

Wade to the bench.

and they want you to getoff their goddamn lawn.

Exactly. I’d love to see Ray on MIA, but don’t see how where he fits on the team. Both he and Wade can only play the 2, neither can do another position.
See this as a downgrade for Boston. He’s not as good of a shooter as Ray and an even worse defender (if thats possible).

Good point, but Allen is, from what I’ve heard, considering the Heat, Clippers, and Celtics…with only the Clippers being able to give him the SG starting role.

This can’t be true…I’ve never been wrong on the internet.

I think Allen was trying to get another year from BOS, overplayed some MIA shit, and Ainged called his bluff and just signed Terry, a similar player (not necessarily equal) but one that can come off the bench w/ Bradley starting.
Also, Ray has his ring. And 90% of the time that rings line means jack shit to the players. Clippers have the space, that’d be a decent get for them. I always felt the Ray-to-MIA was fueled by MIA to carpetbomb the media post-title to get one of the better UFA to bite on their shitty $3mill MLE.
Ray Allen to MIA is not impossible. It just makes no sense for him to go there, to sit on the bench, and make less money.

Oh my god! It’s almost a triple double-post!
July 3rd, 2012 at 3:56 PM
Because sitting behind Wade and sitting behind Bradley aren’t the same to Allen.

Well that sounds retarded.
