I hope they enjoy constantly being the 5th seed in the east (assuming Indy keeps Hibbert). Williams, Brooks, Wallace, Johnson, Lopez, and…maybe humphries? Lopez is overrated and always injured. Wallace hasn’t been good in a few years, and Johnson can’t do anything but shoot.

Is there a worse guy for the Nets to sign to help keep DWill, outside of another true PG? A 20-dribbles-and-shoot SG who’s going to be a cap albatross for the next four years? Nice of the Nets to help Orlando solve their D12 problem though. Because you know, that Joe Johnson for a YMCA rec-league team deal might not have been there in two weeks.

Rumor is that Orlando wouldn’t talk to NJ about Howard. My guess is that they are giving Dwight the big “Eff you”. Looks like Howard will go to Dallas, Lakers, Houston, or…Atlanta? Think about it, Howard is from the ATL, they can now trade Orlando Houston’s 1st(which they just got in this NJ deal), their 1st, a bunch of these NJ expiring contracts, and either Horford or J. Smith. They might even be able to take back a bad contract in Turkoglu.

The Nets don’t know what Williams is going to do, nor do they know what Orlando is going to do with Howard. Getting Johnson gives them someone to build around either in the event they lose Williams or an All Star backcourt mate to entice Williams to re up with Jersey. Good move on their part to not have themselves held hostage.

Williams wants a max contract, and Dwight is owed 19 mill until next year. Unless Williams takes a severe pay cut, Howard’s not coming there. Howard needs to be lustily booed everywhere next year, this guy is an annoying jackass.

Johnson and Williams – two guys who gotta have the ball in their hands a lot. There will be more entertainment value in the stands than on the floor.

When he’s hot, Johnson can fill it, with range. But…on the nights the jumper ain’t falling, he seems so disinterested in the game around him. Watching him on an off-night is like looking at a middle-aged man waiting for a bus.
