Hope Solo Made a Fantastic Save Off a Deflection in the U.S. Women’s Team Win Over Canada

Are you ready to recapture some of the magic from last summer for the U.S. Women’s National Team as they try to win Gold in London? They played a final warmup match before the Olympic Games Saturday against Canada. Just before halftime, Hope Solo made this terrific save after the ball took a deflection, as she was able to react and stop it on the line.

The U.S. won the match 2-1 with an 86th minute goal from Amy Rodriguez.

Great save…to be able to cover that much ground when her body was going the other way is incredible.

Watched it again, kinda looks like the ball crosses the line at the end of the video, after the Canadian player hits it. Regardless, still an incredible save

I agree…great stop…but I feel the mo’ carries the ball across the line. I wish there was a long clip. The canadian player has a right to play the ball and I didn’t hear the whistle…but either way I think both of those players should make out

I could be wrong but I think once goalkeeper gains control of the ball, opponent isn’t allowed to touch it.

One of those defenders needed to give that Canadian forward a fierce takedown next friendly, for her kicking at that ball once Solo was on it, rightly or wrongly.
