Erin Andrews is officially moving to FOX Sports now that her contract with ESPN has expired, according to Richard Deitsch and his highly unnerving byline photo. To no surprise, Andrews has been hired by the network to host a prime-time college football studio show which will debut prior to the Hawaii-USC game on September 1. She’ll also be working in some capacity with FOX’s coverage of the NFL and MLB.

My only memories of FOX covering college football are Thom Brennaman verbally fellating Tim Tebow during the 2009 BCS National Championship for roughly three straight hours and countless shots of various marching bands throughout its bowl coverage.

They clearly have a long way to go, but the presence of Andrews at least brings familiarity with, you know, real college football coverage and serves as a nice splash as the network enters a 12-year agreement with the Pac-12.
