Dwight Howard Wants Trade to Brooklyn Again, Thinks Magic “Blackmailed” Him
The Dwight Howard saga continues. He has requested a trade to the Nets from Orlando GM Rob Hennigan. He now claims to “people close to him” he feels he was “blackmailed” by the Magic into signing his “opt-in” clause and delaying his free-agency in March. He wants to challenge the legality of the opt-in clause itself.
Not sure forcing you to acknowledge being the bad guy publicly constitutes “blackmail.” Not sure a leverage-surrendering clause contractually agreed to becomes illegal just because you were dumb enough to use it. What a clown.

I wish they’d ship his dumb ass to Toronto so I’d never have to see him play again. Fuck him.

This saga is embarassing. Dwight should just stop talking for a while.

Howard, if you didn’t want to be traded, you shouldn’t have asked for a trade. You were not “coerced” or “blackmailed,” you opted in once you realized how bad the PR was for you. Suck it up like a man, and enjoy Houston for a season.

Howard’s lack of maturity throughout this entire process doesn’t negate the fact that the Magic have been dealing in emotional blackmail in attempting to get him to stay using his immaturity against him. The Magic owners contacting his parents to convince him to stay, playing on his need to be liked, playing on the fan emotion of losing Shaq years ago, etc. Howard is immature and the Magic are bush league. Maybe Howard asking for this trade and standing by it to the point of disputing it is a change for him that should have taken place a while ago.

Howard wants to be loved. He does not want to win and play ball. For all the BS negative press endured by Lebron, at least he had the balls to make a decision and put himself in a position to win a championship. Howard seems to be concerned about his Q-rating. Only difference between Nets and Orlando is DisneyLand because neither franchise will ever win a championship.

speaking of shipping him to toronto, i remember seeing that game this year where if raptors scored 100 points in a game everyone in the stands got a free pizza. evident of everyone chanting “We want pizza” it sounded like they gave more of a shit about sausage and pepperoni then they did their own basketball team….unacceptable
