Erin Andrews Is Leaving ESPN
Erin Andrews’ contract with ESPN expires at the end of this month, and the prevailing thought has been that she would re-sign with the network, particularly after ESPN recently lost another female personality and host (not to mention rival to Andrews) in Michele Beadle. However, ESPN dropped the news late today that Andrews will not be returning. According to Josh Krulewitz:
Erin Andrews leaving ESPN. She did great work for us & we made an aggressive offer to keep her. We wish her the best on her next chapter
No official announcement yet on what that next chapter will be, though Richard Deitsch of Sports Illustrated wrote less than an hour before ESPN made the announcement that FOX was making an “aggressive” offer for Andrews and that she would play a “major role” in the college football coverage on the network.

Now for some reason I don’t care about this, basically because she was more of a sideline reporter than actual “sports personality”.

Who gives a shit. She wasn’t that great, and I couldn’t take her seriously after she released that nood tape.

Kendra looks good in that pic. She has that “Avis” thing going. When you’re in second place, you gotta be motivated to try harder.

I’d do her.

Oh noes! Now who will ask the coaches how they managed to stop the other teams offensive attack during the first half?

Lost interest after the peep show because 1) I got to see the goods and 2) her reaction felt a bit too faux. Your privacy is violated, so you go on Oprah and Dancing with the Stars?
Also she seems a little too dumb for her job, and that’s saying something. Fox is almost certainly overpaying.

Good for her.

we made an aggressive offer to keep her
Sure you did. She’s all used up and there’s plenty of better sports chicks with less annoying voices out there.
buuuuh-bye.
Which part of the buh-bye did you not understand, the ‘buh’ or the ‘bye’?

OT.
I’m watching these ‘greatest Olympic moments’ videos at work and it’s getting really fucking dusty around here.

The Derrick Redmond and Ali videos get me every time.
END OT.

Same here. It was wrong what happened to her and I wouldn’t have felt right looking at it. When Deadspin tried to write its serious “report” on it, the piece just had and awful vibe about it.

Same here. Just didn’t feel the need. It would have made me feel creepy.
As for EA leaving tWWL, I hope it’s not just for Fox Sports (the lame younger brother of ESPN). If she’s going to be part of NBC Sports/NBC with an eye towards the Today show, that makes sense. Fox Sports and the rest of the Fox empire are not that intertwined.

BFD. I am so sick of Erin Andrews “look at me, I’m a real journalist, I know sports” routine. Plus, Charissa Thompson is better.
June 30th, 2012 at 12:41 PM
I haven’t seen it because looking at a tape filmed by a peeping tom makes you a peeping tom too.
