Very good, but I’m having a hard time getting best the beer. Drinking Canadian in Canada is like drinking Fosters in Australia, it’s piss.

speaking of, this made me lol.
June 28th, 2012 at 8:47 AM
My least favorite thing about the Internet are assholes like this writer who take it upon themselves to be the twitter police. I feel dumber for having read that piece.
June 28th, 2012 at 8:51 AM
The Vida Guerra video and the Beauty and the Beat video can go die in a fire.

Ohio State finally gets sound. [Columbus Dispatch]
I sat in the bleachers in the ‘shoe in the mid ’90′s before some of the renovations. I thought a third-world collapse/trampling death was possible. Amazing to see how much infrastructure has been added at the former open end of the stadium since then.
June 28th, 2012 at 8:54 AM
Worst thing about youth sports are the adults.
June 28th, 2012 at 8:56 AM
spencer I have a match at Mayfield CC on Sunday. Invited from a friend (who’s never beaten me). I know his wife and family are on vacation so I think he’s been practicing all week, setting me up for an ambush.
June 28th, 2012 at 8:57 AM
There was a story linked a long time ago of some social group in Washington DC that was exactly like this.
Makes me wish the murder rate in DC goes back up.
June 28th, 2012 at 8:57 AM
little libraries …
I am going to see if I can get one of these going for the community garden I have a plot in.
June 28th, 2012 at 8:58 AM
I tried to open this link and it got blocked. reason: provocative attire not allowed. intrigued, I opened it on my phone, thinking there would be a baseball boob or something. I am now lead to believe they may have the internet settings just a wee bit too high here at the office.
June 28th, 2012 at 8:59 AM
The comments on that article. Wow
June 28th, 2012 at 8:59 AM

The author nailed it. This is a great look at a thrown bat going into the stands and numerous fans’ reaction to it. I love the little girl with the “I don’t give a f*ck stare”
June 28th, 2012 at 9:10 AM
The detail of the investigative reporting here is just phenomenal.

June 28th, 2012 at 9:15 AM
My plan at Mayfield is to never be over the hole and since their aprons are perfectly manicured, to land short and then then play on as needed. I played there two years ago so I have some idea what I am up against.
June 28th, 2012 at 9:15 AM
nom nom moms was entertaining. too bad she didn’t have that pinky sticking out or her pose would have been prefection.

June 28th, 2012 at 9:19 AM
After almost 8 years of youth sports I am so done.
June 28th, 2012 at 9:21 AM
Beauty and the Beat was awesome, probably because I’ve watched the movie dozens of times with my daughter. It probably makes me laugh more than people without kids. I laugh at crap I would have found retarded 7 years ago.

I don’t think proper first aid was administered. Picking up the four year old and waving her around isn’t taught in any of the classes I took.

June 28th, 2012 at 9:29 AM
No doubt. Jan Brewer’s statement after SCOTUS eviscerated her Gestapto tactics was one of the more clueless political statements in history. And that is a seriously fucked up list.

Oh yeah – I’ve coached youth baseball and football. Here’s the criteria in the draft:
1. Player ability
2. Calm/helpful parents
3. Hot mom
Football moms are generally hotter than baseball moms.
June 28th, 2012 at 9:31 AM
One more year of girls travel soccer and I’ll be joining you.

It just seems so not very right. Colors have faded, my food tastes different, the birds seem to sing differently, and it’s going to be 101 today, instead of the 70′s I had yesterday. Le sigh…
June 28th, 2012 at 9:33 AM
to add to the above player draft criteria …
we have a kid in our park who grandfather is an ex-major leaguer. We’ve been trying to get him on our team for a while.
The kids mom is a total smoke show and as nice as she can be. So he maxes out on all 3 criteria.
June 28th, 2012 at 9:34 AM
Love Blake Lively. Too hot.
June 28th, 2012 at 9:35 AM

I teach my kids soccer, but on the field I tell them to listen to the coach. Dirty play by another kid, and I tell them to dust it off, stand up for themselves, and make the other kid their bitch on the field.

And people think governments are wasteful.
Did anyone read the story? All of it was donated and she expects to raise $50k for The Humane Society. Good for her I say. If I had a male dog I’d put him up for the groom spot. My female dog may not be down for a lesbian wedding even for the good of charity…
June 28th, 2012 at 9:46 AM
Haha I forgot her. Didn’t she lose her first CNN show because she covered too much actual news?
June 28th, 2012 at 9:48 AM
Agreed, the province formally owned by cheese eating surrender monkeys have a great drinking culture. Blanche De Chambly can be realiably drank in Toronto at $5 a pint (which is good).
Lara Logan, Kate Adie, Zeina Khodr what the fuck are you talking about?
June 28th, 2012 at 9:48 AM
No one reads the links or the comments, so you’re fucked buddy.
June 28th, 2012 at 9:48 AM
Yes. She refused to make the centerpeice of her show one liberal and one conservative screaming at each other. So CNN cancelled her show.

Predictions on this thing? I’m guessing it’s either5-4 strict party-line for the conservatives or 6-3 to uphold with Roberts and Kennedy in the majority.
June 28th, 2012 at 9:51 AM
I’m obviously not being serious. Commenting on the fact that news organizations much prefer to bury real journalists and put out pretty faces or people who are married to hedge fund managers.

Nice. You still toying with Timarron? IMO Sky Creek is the better deal ($270/mo no handshake) of the two, and maybe even a better course overall. I’d need to play there to be sure, though.
June 28th, 2012 at 10:01 AM
Tweeted a pic of me on the driving range last night. Rare night of no family, so I took to the golf course.
I needed to work on some of the major issues that playing Scarlet from the Scarlet tees did to me on Sunday. Had 10 pars, but also had 3 quads and a triple. Ouch. Talk about treacherous greens.
June 28th, 2012 at 10:01 AM
Seems reasonable.
June 28th, 2012 at 10:03 AM
I tell you what, it’s really annoying to constantly see “Scalia, Thomas, Alito” dissent on SOCTUS rulings (or the liberal opposite). Really puts the Court’s reputation into question.
June 28th, 2012 at 10:04 AM
i too know the pain of having 7-9 pars in a round and shooting in the 90′s… Faraway, so close .

timarron is on hold for a while. that is where we are moving, but sky creek is a way better value. i cant commit to one place anyways, there are too many good courses around that i like playing.

upheld as a tax. Oh wow.
this – yes wow … not sure I’m comfortable with that ruling just based on the fact that it could be used as a precedent for future legislation (like taxes on gun ownership, home ownership, other insurance, etc). I like a lot if the bill, but the whole “do it or we tax you” part is a bit unsettling – not w/ regard to health care but other every day behavior/rights.

Both sides in washington can go to hell
June 28th, 2012 at 10:41 AM
I feel like his opinion should be on YouTube and be re-written by Aaron Sorkin.
Son, we live in a world that has walls, and inside those walls people with guns will hurt each other, and those victims need health care. Who’s gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinburg? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Obamacare and you curse the HMOs. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That our Supreme Court appeal of Obamacare’s, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my HMO’s existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don’t want the truth because deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want me defending insurance companies, you need me defending the HMO’s. We use words like honor, code, loyalty, and billing rates. We use these words as the backbone of a economy spent defending the 1%. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very healthcare that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a scalpel and apply a band-aid from a first aid kit.. Either way, I don’t give a damn what you think you are entitled to.
June 28th, 2012 at 10:41 AM
Hey you, homeless man, get insurance or youll be taxed, especially on that cardboard box!
June 28th, 2012 at 10:42 AM
small businesses weep.
yeah – this. Glad I’m no longer there. Being a self-employed consultant is bad enough.
But, good for me that more small businesses will be forced to use self-employed consultants.

Did they announce the vote on that? Safe to assume Scalia authored the dissent?
June 28th, 2012 at 10:46 AM
Im grateful for the assistance i got while unemployed and flat broke but it shouldnt be mandated to get insurance. It should just be readily available at an affordable cost if you want to get insurance.

Any day where the Federal Gov’t has their power exponentially increased is a bad day for the country in the long run.
June 28th, 2012 at 10:53 AM

Sorry if this has been addressed, but NOWHERE IN THIS LINK is there a reference to the WSJ having the intern make up quotes. In fact, it states that the intern apparently made up quotes on her own and was fired.

im less outraged on people being given medical coverage than i am that we waste $bllions on stopping people from getting a good buzz on all while ignoring the giant armed-to-the-teeth elephant stomping around in america’s basement.
things are changing in chicago, cuz. just a ticket for possession up to a certain amount

So if you dont have insurance by 2014, you get fined either $285 or 1% of your income..whatever is higher..by 2016, 2085 or 2.5%, higher of the two…thats the part which is most fucking stupid to me.

No panic button here mole. Just another head shake / shoulder shrug. Just tired of everyone talking about the needs and importance of small business in this country followed by another strike against it. I’m sure the 27 families that I employ will enjoy having their health care costs rise because without passing some of the costs along to them, the company will lose its ass. Hope it all works out…obviously politicians and judges know more about what’s good for business and the economy than those of us who are actually involved in it.

that’s not the same thing in the slightest.

A Jim Morrison reference is perfect for this site, as he’d be the Lizard King of dong pictures in today’s social media fervor.
Any of you Metroplexers familiar with Coyote Ridge? A buddy of mine loves that place, and I’m thinking of giving it a shot.

This my main objection to Obamacase — “You’re too poor to buy health coverage? Well, we’ll fine you for that!”
My take being that just about everyone would buy coverage if it was affordable. How about this? If you mandate coverage, mandate a cap on premiums as well.

that’s an attack on being able to profiteer on health care, son. un-fucking-american.

If you’re still working down in the UP, LB Houston might be a good place to hook up after work for 18 in the summers now that they’re re-doing the course.
if it is decent shape, thats a good idea. i used to go out there about 515 in the summer and get a full round in for 20 bucks.

Next up: Federal government requires all Americans to golf once a week, with cart. This who do not golf are fined 1% of income.
Golf courses raise green fees to average of $500 per round, with cart an additional $200.

Yeah – and Chicago is the model for all things good so we got that going for us.

One day, aka never, the politicians will actually care about what their constituents want instead of ignoring those opinions for the big bucks of lobbyists
The lobbyists and Super Pacs are their constituents simply because they pay more.
June 28th, 2012 at 11:39 AM
Yeah, here’s the deal. Accountant tells me it will be cheaper to pay the penalty for not offering insurance than the cost of providing employer provided insurance. Guess what I’m going to do? And now all those employees who were getting health insurance with pre-tax dollars will be paying with after-tax dollars. Whether most of the dumbasses will notice this is questionable.

scripty, that was pretty damn impressive. I stand and salute you, sir.
OBTW, the Waldo Canyon (COS) fire is slowing down somewhat. Lots of rebuilding to come. Tuesday night around here sucked. Came close to evac’ing, but east of I-25 was untouched.
June 28th, 2012 at 12:18 PM
SROD, that fire looked damn wrath-of-god when juxtapositioned again the AFA stadium. Scary but awesome.
June 28th, 2012 at 12:22 PM
nada, the Tuesday night part was wild. From 2pm on to sundown, we had 100-degree temps, 40 to 50 knot winds and crazy amounts of dead foliage. Great combo for staring a big fire.
Watching that stuff up close, I tried to stay calm, but I expected to get an evacuation order in the middle of the night.
It was a miracle the USAFA campus wasn’t touched. And, this morning, some embers touched off small fires just north of USAFA. Amazing stuff.
