Things have been going just a little too well for the Yankees of late, so today the team announced that starter CC Sabathia is headed to the disabled list after feeling pain in his left adductor muscle (his groin). He apparently felt discomfort during Sunday night’s Dickey duel and felt it again during Tuesday’s bullpen session, so the decision is to start Freddy Garcia on Friday and bring CC back after the All-Star break.

With the predictable weight gain expected during this extended period of rest, Sabathia will reportedly pitch the remainder of the season in a custom Yankee muumuu.

The impressive first place Yankees have won four in a row and 18 of their last 23.
