Amar’e Stoudemire Fined $50,000 For “Offensive and Derogatory Language” On Twitter
Twitter just keeps getting athletes into trouble. Today the NBA fined Amar’e Stoudemire of the New York Knicks $50,000 for “offensive and derogatory language” in a Direct Message on Twitter. Over the weekend, Amar’e got into it on Twitter with a Knicks fan, @BFerrelli.
Amar’e said he had finished working out and “B Forreal!” presumably tried to joke around with Stoudemire by tweeting:
@BFerrelli: @amareisreal: you better come back a lot stronger and quicker to make up for this past season mannnnnn deadasss!!!
He had a point, but Amar’e wasn’t hearing it, so he DM’d the guy the message, “Fuck you. I don’t have to do any thing fag.” If there was any question whether or not the exchange was real, a $50K fine should answer that. This is the latest lapse of judgement for Amar’e this summer. First he punched a fire extinguisher and cut his hand. Then he wore that outfit in public. Now this. Basketball can’t get here soon enough.

He shouldn’t be calling anyone names if he is going to wear gear like that.

I believe he went to Israel to study the old religion. I think he is in that confusing space between being a christian and a jew.

The latest fashion trend is Hassidic Jew. You can’t see the little curly long hair coming out of the back of his head because of the camera angle.

The NBA could fine him $50k every weekday of the year and he’d still have almost $1 million left. Tweet on Amare.
