Jerry Sandusky’s Adopted Son Matt Sandusky Told Prosecutors He Was Molested, Was Willing to Testify
Jerry Sandusky’s adopted son Matt Sandusky, now 33, told prosecutors this week he was molested by his adopted father and was willing to testify at trial if needed.
He has denied ever being abused by his adopted father until now. “This has been an extremely painful experience for Matt and he has asked us to convey his request that the media respect his privacy. There will be no further comment,” Shubin said in a statement.
Matt Sandusky is one of the family’s six adopted children. He joined The Second Mile at age 7. Sara Ganim previously reported on his “rocky relationship” with the family in March.
According to NBC News, the prospect of his son testifying might have contributed to Sandusky’s decision not to testify on his own behalf.

ap, one of them will hang it
one of the accusers went public on nbc today, said he’d punch sandusky in the nose if he was in front of him. abuse started at age 10, he’s 33 now, just told his family, is filing civil suit
the civil suits and fed probes of admin will be monolithic

Sandusky’s head in a vise until his eyeballs pop wouldn’t be bad either.

Could this 11th hour revelation jeopardize the entire case? Mistrial anyone?
June 21st, 2012 at 5:57 PM
They should be done deliberating 2 months ago.
Sandusky’s not-give-a-fuck-ness is impressive though. Dude’s always smiling, was still at the Penn St weight room everyday after this came out…whatever happened to shame?

This certainly helps the defense more than it hurts if you look at Joltin’ Joe’s strategy. Really the only thing he could do was focus on the inconsistencies between the grand jury testimony and what is being said now, and the coaching witnesses angle. Having a kid who didn’t mention the molestation at the grand jury level and now comes out with it – while logistically realistic of course – could absolutely push anyone who is having doubt about the testimony and pieces fitting together into the reasonable doubt category.

“could absolutely push anyone who is having doubt about the testimony and pieces fitting together into the reasonable doubt category.”
I don’t agree with your use of the term “reasonable” there.

Nobody could ever have any reasonable doubts about any of the charges brought. I agree.
Except for the whole thing about the judge throwing out a handfull of charges today because they weren’t substantiated by facts.
It’s not enough for someone to across the board say innocent, but it is absolutely within the realm that on some of the things where the dots don’t connect perfectly a reasonable person could have a doubt.
