Similar story happened in the Quarter right after Katrina. Couple stayed there to ride it out. Sometime in the months that followed, the boyfriend snapped, killed the GF, dismembered her, and put parts of the body in his fridge and then apparently tried using other parts to cook with. Good times.

I remember some of the stories from Katrina about the hospitals having to leave patients to die because the power was off for too long and the doctors had to finally evacuate. And that’s in a major American city with the rest of the country fully functional.
I’ve always maintained that all a terrorist organization would really have to do to bring down America is knock out power grids for an extended period of time. We’d do the rest ourselves.

I’ve been at the hospital for less than two months; the committee is trying to make things right, but it’s a process. It’ll be a while before shit gets straight. I can’t imagine what other, poorer run hospitals have for protocol.

Not really. Dystopia is fun to think about, but it’s never pulled off right. I’ll watch the pilot, but I don’t have much expectations.

Add to that, I have two “officers of the law” living next to and behind me. And the guy across the street is packing heat as well and is a horticultural expert so our neighborhood will be fine. I expect all the folks in our neighborhood from India will survive just fine given the environment from which they moved.

It’s an awesomely bad movie. First Crichton book film after Jurrasic Park except that unlike JP Crichton was did not help write it. Then you add in the fact that they tried to use an actual gorilla for Amy but they couldn’t so they had to stick a gymnast in there. Also the terrible divergence from the book, Homolka wasn’t even a character in the book. Making Monroe a black guy (although Ernie Hudson is a legend), and the horrible make-up on the gray gorillas. Just a CF of a movie, but it’s fun to quote and watch and mock.

Using real SEALs instead of actors probably makes for some incredibly heavy dialogue. And I just can’t picture something like that as being written well.

I want thrilling action scenes that are also coherent. Want an example? Watch The Raid. Best action movie I’ve seen in a long long time. Fluid, smooth fights scenes that are both thrilling and coherent. Every action director in Hollywood should be forced to see it.

In addition to Spice World, I also saw Here on Earth. A couple girls in my dorm told me it was a sci-fi movie, and since they were upper classman, of course I went.

If you like the Black Swan scene I suggest seeing A Dangerous Method. Kiera Knightly topless getting spanked by Michael Fassbender. Add in Viggo Mortensen as Sigmund Freud and some good dialogue and it’s a good movie if you like that type.

Re Bourne: when he says his name is “Kent Gibson” is in the same room where Damon said his name was David Webb. How do we know that “There was never just one” doesn’t mean there were multiple Jason Bournes? Jason Bourne was a dead guy who David Webb killed so he could become a fake Bourne
