Consensus No. 1 Overall Recruit Robert Nkemdiche Commits to Clemson
Robert Nkemdiche, the nation’s consensus No. 1 overall recruit, has committed to Clemson. He had been recruited heavily by Alabama and Ole Miss, among others. Nkemdiche is a 6’5″ 270lb strong side defensive end. He’s described as shorter and slower than South Carolina’s Jadeveon Clowney, but bigger and potentially able to play at tackle as well. Huge get for Dabo Swinney, obviously.
Nkemdiche is Clemson’s third 2013 commit from Grayson high school in Loganville, Georgia, along with defensive back/friend David Kamara and running back Wayne Gallman. The school’s head coach, Mickey Conn, was a college teammate of Swinney.
If Nkemdiche sticks he will be the first No. 1 overall recruit to land outside the SEC East since Terrelle Pryor in 2008 and the first to commit before January since Jimmy Clausen in 2007.

He’ll be the 2nd best DE in the Big 12 soon enough, until Jordan Jeffcoat moves to the NFL.

Is he Donnie’s younger brother? That’d be wild and crazy, kid.

That’s a shame, his career is over now.

The idea of a consensus #1 overall recruit is pretty goddamn absurd.

Google Maps tells me it’s less than six hours from Loganville to Jacksonville, FL. Which means going to Clemson seems like an awfully roundabout way to make a trip down there each January.

Meh. Maybe it’s the ESPN production ( which is likely) but his tape doesn’t look as silly as Clowney’s. Of course, Clowney has shown a little promise so the comparison isn’t really significant IMHO.

a “little” promise from Clowney?

Of cour$e he will. Just like all the other recruit$ they get.
It’s insane Clemson keeps pulling this off.

Maybe he can help hold their next bowl opponent under 70. Still think he ends up at Bama.

So are you saying he’ll eventually either be a douche-bag with bad hair or a tatted-up money-hungry underwhelmer?

Sounds like a consensus bust
